Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama Saturday said members of the House of Representatives face the chance of a lifetime as they consider legislation on health care reform.
In a meeting with the House Democratic leadership, the president said he told lawmakers "that opportunities like this come around maybe once in a generation.

Following cable news and CSPAN so far today, its clear that the dem leadership along with Obama’s cheerleading, is trying to ignite a euphoric hysteria on the House floor that will carry all before it. Every little rules resolution and so forth, clearing the way to a floor vote is applauded and fist-pumped like they’d just landed on the moon. Anything to get the blue dogs to shut down their higher functions. This must be what happens to lemmings as they march closer and closer to the cliff edge.
Or kamikaze pilots just before their suicide mission.

Zero asking Dem's to sacrifice themselves in order to ensure the veneer of success of the leader of their party may not have gone over too well.

Most of the news channels only allow us to see the dem leaders waxing rapturous and euphoric and applauding themselves.
Folks, I am so freaked out that I barely know what to think. This is going to give the government access to every part of our lives. It is also going to strip out every spare dime we have and make us subject to jail if we can’t come up with the money.
How did we get here? What can we do?

Serious flipping question: How is this bill even remotely Constitutional? Maybe legal for the various states, but federally, it seems obviously not.
General Welfare clause? Please, can those few words be extended out to mean ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING? Where does this end?!?!

I guess I answered my own question with this:

I hope you’re right, that they’re not convinced that they’ll all be voted out of office no matter what they do. That’s a common tactic of the far left, to tell them they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t so that they’ll be obedient by doing exactly what they’re told to do.

I think Steyn summarized it best yesterday, subbing for Rush. He said that the Dems are prepared to take away all your freedoms in two steps: Obamacare and GlobalWarmingcare.
The healthcare bill will take away all freedoms to do with your body (what you eat, what you drink, etc).
While the global warming bill will take away whatever freedoms are leftover (what you drive, what you live in, etc).

1. The fines.
2. The tax on “premium” heathcare (aka, regular healthcare)
3. Removal of CPI adjustments of tax brackets. If we get inflation, we will all be at the max tax bracket really fast.
Cato Institute figures that this is an additional 17% tax on most Americans. 17% f***ing percent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
