Fort Hood Shootings: Gunman Used 'Cop Killer' Weapon In Massacre At US Army Base
The US Army major who carried out the Fort Hood massacre sprayed more than 100 rounds at his comrades using a gun nicknamed the "cop killer."

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, used an FN Five-Seven, a semi-automatic pistol popular with SWAT teams, that can fire armour-piercing bullets. A total of 13 people died in the bloodbath at the Texas military base and 38 were wounded.
Hasan had bought the weapon legally at a gun store close to Fort Hood in August and practiced at a nearby shooting range. During the attack he also carried a Smith & Wesson .357-calibre revolver but it was not clear if he used it.
The killing spree only ended when Hasan was shot and seriously wounded by two police officers, Sgt Kim Munley, who was herself shot in the thighs and wrist, and her partner Sgt Mark Todd.
Sgt Todd said: "When we got there he was hiding behind a telephone pole firing at people as they ran around. "He fired at me and I fired back. I was about 15 yards away. I could see into his eyes and he was calm. We did what we had to do, I wish we could have got there sooner."
Sgt Munley, who is only 5ft tall, is being treated for her wounds in hospital and has been described by friends as a "ball of fire" and a "great cop." When she arrived she saw Hasan firing at a fleeing, wounded soldier. She chased him and opened fire only for Hasan to turn and unleash his "cop killer" weapon.
Sgt Munley is married to Matthew Munley, a member of the special forces who has done two tours of Iraq.

Yeah. That's the ticket!
I got their ‘cop killer’ right here.....we used to call ‘em
‘Black tip ‘06s’....much worse than that pantywaist 57...
I have been wondering. 45+ “hits” when one thinks that more than 40 rounds were likely fired. Few are so accurate that they hit 45 of 45. There must have been some reloading or super large clips involved.??
>> that can fire armour-piercing bullets
But, did he have the armor-piercing (SS190) bullets? Or did he have the soft civilian-legal ammo? If we need to blame an inanimate object for this terrorist attack, let’s put the blame where it belongs: on the Koran.
Muslim goes jihad - quick, we need gun control!
No, we need muslim control.
The 5.7 has proved to be more of a wounder than a killer. It is also only able to penetrate low end armor, not mil stuff.
Anyone can be a “cop killer”, shall we jail all Muslims just to be safe?
I assume the lamestream media doesn’t know ‘cop killer’ bullets can be put into any round.
It started inside a building and the “targets” were fairly close. In addition, in a packed room at close range hits to an arm. leg or soft side tissue could very well do on to wound one or two others.
32 people were killed at Virginia Tech. When you crowd a lot of sheep into a small area it doesn’t take a lot to create a slaughter.
I really doubt he used the armor piercing bullets.
Except for the responding police he would know the people he was murdering were soft targets and the armor piercing bullets would do less damage to a soft target than a regular bullet.

It doesn’t take either brains or talent to kill unarmed victims in a Victim Disarmament Zone. You also don’t seem to understand the Dealy Plaza shooting.
This pistol is popular on SWAT teams? Why? Are they expecting that perps will be wearing body armor? I think use of it would just raise the chance of friendly-fire kills....
The Ap ammo is NOT available over the counter. Maybe police have it.
