In this self-serving piece written by Al Gore, Climate Crisis is mentioned 8 times. But Global Warming is mentioned only twice. (Presumably because its becoming apparent to more people that global warming has been a political fraud.) For credibility, he mixes in references to valid concerns (e.g., overdependence on foreign oil) with more of his lunatic raving against carbon-based fuels. This time, Al Gore is going to save the economy by magically reducing use of carbon-based fuels (never mind that the Cap & Trade taxing scheme would add a massive tax burden to our faltering economy).
The only solutions acceptable to Al are solar, wind and geothermal. Of course, there is no mention of the huge increases in domestic natural gas production (read this great WSJ article: America's Natural Gas Revolution) as the way to reduce overdependence on foreign oil because, you know, carbon-based fuels are evil in the religion of global warming. Economic salvation will be found in all the new green jobs that are to be created.
Heres one gem from this article: Moving toward more ecologically sensitive agricultural practices, including changes in diet, can revitalize the soil.
Al closes his article with this shining-path-forward statement: We must make the choiceas a country and as a global civilization to embrace a multifaceted plan to solve the climate crisis once and for all. Thank you comrade Gore.
Given the soft sell tone employed in this article, just imagine the load of propaganda contained in his book.
Lets be sure to thank Costco for bringing us corporate-sponsored propaganda with their cover story promoting Al Gores new book, which is titled "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis". That sounds like Al Gore's environmental "Mein Kampf" to me.
yeah, I got that mag..it went straight into the trash. Unopened.
I received that last week. There was a peremptory note from the editor- anticipating push back I guess. It referenced the fact that they had a full page ad from G Beck’s book last issue. Big deal. There is a difference between advertising their products and putting in a piece written by a controversial political figure. When I called, the operator was prepared with her speech. I expressed dismay at the politicization of my shopping experience and pointed out the vast difference between an ad for a book and a written piece of junk science.
Costco mngt are big democract contributors. I called them up and demanded that they not send that garbage into my house and infect my kids. The young man receiving the call was very nice considering my 8 min. rant, and said that he had removed my name from the mailing list (got it off of my home phone number,) and that he was sending the conversation to the upstream people because Costco was interested in my feedback. I am awaiting the knock on the door.
Also told them that if they wanted to stop carbon emissions that they need to stop selling tires, plastic cr$% from China, and all of those huge grill outfits.
I opened my mailbox, saw Algore on the cover and it went promptly into the trash. Didn’t even crack it open.
Costco is sure messin’ with fire to play marxist with algore during these economic times. I guess the fascist CEO decided it is better to go out of business than to disappoint a comrade. Conservates, put Costco out of business.
Not a big deal. They sell stuff to Americans, not just conservatives.
True. They also sell a ton of “conservative” materials — Beck, Lavin, Malkin etc....
Have been trying to decide whether to join Costco ... decision made.
Whatever.
I’m a big fan of Costco — good food (most NOT from China, like Sam’s Club or Walmart etc.), good prices, nice people, wide variety of products — including books by all the popular conservative authors.
The cover story on Al Gore was stupid — maybe they’ve timed it so that people would realize how dumb he is. I’m not going to DROP Costco because of this stupid story, though I may let them know I think it’s stupid.

I love Costco. You are right about the quality of the food and a great selection of wine. Now if I could just get them to carry Adam’s Peanut Butter and Tillamook black label cheddar (we’re on the east coast now) I’d be a very happy camper.
Ours here in Colorado Springs has Tillamook black label — I think it’s 2 years old or something. I forget what kind of organic peanut butter we get from Costco — makes the best peanut butter cookies.
Yeah, this Al Gore thing was a stupid move. But Costco is the best. Love them.
I think it is the Extra Sharp. The Adam’s Peanut Butter is the best peanut butter on earth, IMHO. Haven’t found it here on the east coast.
