Brian Baird’s (3rd WA) DC office is also taking calls. Same as Inslee’s office, they say they will pass the message on. I made the same point about the healthcare bill being fundamentally flawed due to the unconstitutionality of forcing American’s to buy anything. I also made the same point that I would work aggressively to defeat any WA U.S. Representative, who votes for this bill, in the 2010 elections. I thanked the staffer for working on Saturday and remained polite but blunt. Please keep the calls going! They feel the hordes at the gates!
Rep Adam Smith (9th WA) has DC staff answering also. Just like with Inslee and Baird, the staff person was very polite. I asserted my point that forcing Americans to buy anything is unconstitutional and therefore renders this healthcare bill fundamentally flawed. I also emphasized that I would work aggressively to unseat any WA Representative who votes for this bill. These people have clearly been trained to remain calm and gentle while taking these calls. It’s even creepy how fast they pick up and how warm their manner is.
