Palin vs. Obama a draw, independents win
The Kansas City Star ^ | November 6, 2009 | Arturo Mora

Posted on 11/07/2009 5:57:14 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Any judgment of Barack Obama’s presidency based on a handful of off-year races is overstating the case. Trying to decipher the real meaning is something like reading tea leaves, and just as reliable. Still, they are clues and warnings, at least, for the national parties. My reading of the leaves: independents flexed their muscle and gave Obama a warning, passing health care reform is going to be a little harder but still in the cards, and New York voters deepened the Republican identity crisis. You could say this was in a part the opening blow of Obama vs. Sarah Palin 2012, and I’d have to call it an even match.

Each side has already put their own spin on last Tuesday’s vote. The Republican victories in gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey were either indications of strong Republican candidates, dissatisfaction with visible economic progress, an indication of Palin’s powerful influence, or a referendum on Obama’s ambitious budget, healthcare and energy proposals.

At the very least, those votes, where independents abandoned Democrats big time, should make the Obama Administration uneasy about pushing their big plans much harder as the 2010 congressional elections inch closer. The healthcare push will get wrapped up, but will they reconsider how hard to push the next big fight, for cap-and-trade climate legislation? Both are necessary, but it’s going to take some tenacity to stick it through.

This election will not kill healthcare reform. Obama and congressional Democrats are pretty much all-in on that one by now. The House is solid, and the only remaining question is how deftly Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid can dance his way around the 60-vote filibuster roadblock. These results will just make his job a tad harder, as a few fence-sitting Democratic Senators get even more nervous.(continued)

I was wondering what that Information Minister guy during the invasion of Iraq was doing nowadays. Looks like he picked up a pseudonym and got a job with the KC Red Star.

And after reading this barf-piece, please read this article. Much more insightful.

It’s totally shocking to see the traditional America I grew up in falling into the abyss of communism & defended/promoted by the media sychophants. And nothing we can do to stop this nightmare. Sigh.

Notice how NY23 is a warning to R's but VA and NJ have nothing to do with Obama? What a bunch of clowns...we should consider their blindness willful at this point.

Remember, Hoffman plus Dede =51 percent, Owens 49 percent. Even w/ Scuzzy's endorsement he couldn't crack 50 percent.

Let the spin themselves silly convincing themselves that that bodes well for them somehow.

2010, the truly big show, is an eon away.

If the Republicans were to pick up 100 seats in 2010, this same newspaper will say that it's meaningless to read anything into off-year elections, and that 2012, the truly big show, is an eon away.

I disagree. If you read Charles Krauthammer’s article, “The myth of ‘08, demolished,” Palin would clobber Obama. I don’t think he would win if the election was held today.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/11/05/AR2009110504334.html

All we Republicans, true conservatives, have to do is decide who will be paired with Palin for a win-win ticket. I have someone in mind... Bob McDonnell? I suspect the Dummycrats are already stealing his trashcans in the dead of night, to see if they can prevent this.

A GREAT video op-ed by PJTV's Bill Whittle a few weeks after Sarah resigned. But most of his comments deal with RINOs and the radical communists now controlling the 'rat party now guided by the Alinsky communists.

Beginning at the 7:30 mark, a clear message to real Americans. The last 3 minutes are spot-on with his warning to begin fighting dirty or else face total destruction & defeat.

The Media, The Left and GOP Elitists vs. Sarah Palin: A Lesson on How to Destroy a Leader

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to view and take to heart before it's too late.

For openers: #1 -—Obama vs. Palin 2012????
First of all, IF Obama makes it to the end of
a FIRST term, he and his Administration are going
to be so neutralized, crippled and discredited, that
Sarah Palin or a dozen other New COnservatives could
stroll into the WH virtually without a fight, with
the largest majority ever seen in American politics.
AND THE REST OF IT, is just a bunch of wishful thinking
that even in its basic facts is already out of date.
‘ And they’d better watch out about cap and tax, because
THAT one is even MORE indefensible than “Obamacare” and
will create REAL riots.

The Republican Party dropped the ball here. If they had a marketable real RR republican (R^4) from the start, he or she would have won. The silver lining here is that there will be another election in a year, so let’s roll.

More ignorance and denial from Leftists trying to find some way to spin Tuesday.

What the propagandists in the US Junk Media seem unwilling to address is the fact that “independents” were attracted to Dear Reader by a set of carefully constructed campaign lies feverishly pushed in 2008 by the Democrat Party Propaganda machine.

How quickly they forget the faux “Centrist” 2008 promises of Dear Reader i.e. “Tax cuts for 95% of Americans” “Most transparent Administration in History” “Energy Independence in 10 years” etc etc etc

What is the one thing the bulk of “Independents” consistently vote against? Fiscally irresponsible spending and corruption.

They fired Bush and the GOP based on the notion that they had become part of the corrupt practices of DC and were irresponsible with the people's money.

They hired Obama on the mistaken notion that he was going to ride into DC clean up the corruption “Most open administration in history” who would be a “post racial” president while giving “tax cuts to 95% of Americans”.

Slowly, because the “Independents” are sheep easily lead by the Junk Media, the “Independents” are waking up to the fact that Dear Reader is every bit as corrupt while being even more irresponsible with the Public Purse.

Independents are at heart conservatives in outlook. The recent Gallup poll validated that data.

A bold Conservative agenda that focuses on the traditional values of the USA (fiscal responsibility, open, honest, smaller Government, moral accountability in leadership, a principled strong national defense, while also presenting a serious rational approach for addressing such issues as Energy Independence, real health insurance reform, and lead by someone untainted by the corruption of DC will attract them in droves to GOP candidates.

It did in VA last week, it will in 2010.

And nothing we can do to stop this nightmare. Sigh.

don not despair. That attitude is what got us so vulnerable in the first place.

Take heart - and read my tagline.

Think of - and help - the Tea Partyiers, the other demonstrations. These are scaring the bejeebers out of dem/rats who are up for reelection in 2010. (Bottom line: they are more worried about their own hineys than the obummer - and his clout has dissolved. Indeed, can you picture any candidate, after last weeks disastrous defeat, wanting the obummer anywhere near their campaigns?) So do your part: Daily call/email those rats and demand they not vote for health/cap and trade...both of which are Communist take over bills in disguise. WE stop them here and we stop them, period. NOW IS THE HOUR. They count and pay attention to the number of phone calls/emails. (snailmail is no good - due to security delays).

TAke heart: we are not alone. No despot has ever been able to take over a country without first taking the peoples guns. Not only have all their efforts failed in this, the right to have our guns has gotten stronger. And the one industry that the obummer and gang been good for? Guns and ammo. Unprecedented sales since the obummer came on the scene...and ammo is as scarce as hens teeth. Dealers can't keep it on the shelves. That's a lot of super armed citizens out there.

Not only a well armed citizenry and many well trained privates militias, but others that have our back, like:

The Oath Keepers - retired and current serving military/law enforcement men and women who are dedicated to honoring the oaths they take "to the Constitution of the United States [NOT to the president] to protect - against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic.." - they will not obey an order to turn against WE the PEOPLE.

and the Sheriffs of every state - thanks in large part to Sheriff Mack of Arizona - who fought the enemies 'domestic' all the way to the Supreme Court on the Brady gun laws - and WON - on the tenet that the federal gov't has NO, ZERO, NADA jurisdiction over a state's sheriff - and sheriff acoress the country are now being educated on this...the Feds, by law, have to stop at the states border. Our part? We must concentrate not just on federal campaigns - we must make sure our local sheriffs are good republicans!

Look up "Oath Keepers' and "Sheriff Mack."

Take heart - and HELP.

NO more hang your head and "sigh". No more wring your hands and lament.

Get up off your kiester and HELP! The life/liberty you save may be your own - and your kids and grandkids and THEIR kids.

WE STAND TOGETHER OR WE FALL APART.

and don't utter such defeat est utterances as "And there's nothing we can do to stop this nightmare"

in my presence again.

Thanks for the link to Krauthammers column - I missed that one.

I have his site desk topped - he ALWAYS, with this dead on insight - makes me take heart.

He's a breath of fresh/clean air that keeps the dirty smog from DC away - we should all remember to read him. He's a bellwether for us to keep up our spirits.

Desktop him and read daily for a lift.

as a precaution to point out it out, then maybe you need a chill pill? The permission in your posts are more in line with the humorless liberal troglodytes.

- at the end of that clip, be sure to wait for obummer totally negaing it. We need Judge Nepolitano as our next AG - and eventually on the SCOTUS
