Major Nidal Malik Hasan was a victim of Islamophobia, according to members of his family.
One cousin told the Associated Press that Major Hasan had been battling racial harassment because of his "Middle Eastern ethnicity.” The harassment, we are told, came from his fellow officers who failed to understand that “Islam is a religion of peace.”
The cousin added that the harassed Hasan had been opposed to an imminent deployment overseas, describing it as his "worst nightmare,” since he would be called upon to do battle against his Muslim brothers.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Major Hasan's aunt, Noel Hasan of Falls Church, Virginia, said that her nephew had been harassed about being a Muslim in the years after the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, and he wanted out of the Army.
"Some people can take it and some people cannot," she insisted. "He had listened to all of that and he wanted out of the military."

Nothing was stopping him from getting out of the Army, once he’d fulfilled his obligation, or paid it back. He made quite a bit of money each year. Army officers aren’t paupers.
Don’t give me this “oh he wanted out” crap. If he’d wanted out, he’d have made some moves. What he wanted was a nice cushy stateside billet with no deployment. Where incidentally he would not be on the front lines in any case. What a pants-load this is.

how old was he when he joined? what kind of job did he have..? would he have seen much action if he was deployed?
My big question is how did he make mojor and how did military miss him?
My kids are in the military. If one of them went off the deep end and did with this terrorist did, I’d be first in line to disavow any connection. Before the corpses were cold last night, the talking head liberals were saying that the Army didn’t protect him from other soldiers saying mean things to him.
Muslims always think that they are the victims, no matter how many innocent people THEY MURDER. Muslim radicals are completely incapable of rational thought.
Hasan conducted an execution of unarmed soldiers in an act of Islamic terrorism, yelling Allah Akbar while he was killing his victims.
He did NOT have PTSD—he has never been in a combat zone, nor exposed to combat. Listening to people tell about their experiences while deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan does not qualify in any way, shape, or form.
You are all witnessing a cover-up.
But facts are stubborn things.
This is the third attack on active military members by Muslim terrorists this year INSIDE our own country.

I read that he had poor evals. That is usually the kiss of death for promotions yet he was promoted anyway. The “missed” him because tehy were told to miss him.

Don't believe he was being harassed — why would someone take a chance to harass a person they suspected of being a terrorist? Doesn't track!
He just needed to go to his CO, tell them that he is having obsessive thoughts about killing American soldiers. He would have had to get a psych eval and a guarantee you, he would have been out of the service with a medical discharge or a general discharge which he could get upgraded after the fact to honorable. The sad thing is that if he told the truth, he could have gotten out and never paid back the hundreds of thousands of dollars the Army paid for his education.
Any claim that he was held against his will in the military is bogus.

The military paid for his medical school so he had to serve as part of his agreement. I heard that he hired an attorney to negotiate a deal to leave the army but pay money for his education. Regardless, he is no victim. He received the finest training in the world. Everyone in the service must potentially serve in the combat areas.
He will be sorry that he lived through the shooting. He will have a sorry existence for his hopefully short remaining time. Hopefully, the military will provide swift and brutal justice even if he is paralyzed.

He got his tenses wrong. Hasan is going to be a victim. If they save his life, he is going to be spending the rest of his life in prison.
Importantly, though the US military has a death penalty, it almost never executes prisoners. However the State of Texas does so with great frequency. As such, a big question being asked right now is, “Were any of these homicides applicable to Texas State law, and not just the UCMJ?”
In past, at Fort Hood, particularly loathsome criminals with multiple offenses would only serve a few years in Ft. Leavenworth. Then the Army would turn them over to the Texas authorities for civilian trial, with the agreement that if convicted, they would be sent to the Texas maximum security prison. A Texas max makes Leavenworth look like day care.
This may be the fate of Hasan in any event, life in the Texas max. However, if a homicide can be prosecuted under Texas State law, there is a very good chance that Hasan could end up strapped to a gurney.
The last sound he hears being a Texas twang, saying, “Hope you have a good time down there in Hell, ‘cause Allah ain’t doin’ squat for you, you heathen devil.”
We can’t send a resident jihadi overseas because it might upset him? What we need to do is get rid of the addled liberals and the insidious and underhanded leftists in government.
