(CNSNews.com) - Thousands of Americans opposed to the Democrats’ health care plan marched on Capitol Hill Thursday urging lawmakers to “kill the bill.” Among the speakers at the rally was Hollywood actor Jon Voight who told CNSNews.com he does not believe the Constitution authorizes Congress to require individuals to purchase health insurance. He also said there are “a lot of things that are unconstitutional” going on in Congress.
CNSNews.com asked Voight, “Does the Constitution authorize Congress to be able to require individuals to have health insurance?”
“I don’t believe so,” he said. “They can’t mandate it.”
“There’s a lot of things that are unconstitutional going on and we know that,” Voight told CNSNews.com. “So, that’s what this is all about. That’s why these people are all upset and that’s why they’re all out there. “
“And you should go interview some of these people because you’ll see the real America,” said Voight. “You’ll see the America of our forefathers. You’ll see very brave people. You’ll see great people and eloquent people. They’re as good as anybody who’s behind that microphone.”
Voight referenced his visit to the former Communist Soviet Union to support his argument.

Franklin Delano. Roosevelt (Terms of Office March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945), a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He Promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put Into the Program would be deductible from Their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the Independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would Only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

He’s just speaking in diplomatic terms so he can reach a wide audience without sounding too “in your face”. We at free republic know these healthcare mandates are unconstitutional.
I won’t nitpick..he sounds like a good guy from what I’ve read of him.
I’m not sure there will be a US economy left by the time this power hungry scam finishes choking the life out of us. This and the cap and tax swindle will be the last bit of dirt kicked into the grave.
i love Jon Voigt. He’s a great actor, and he’s been outspoken on the Slow Coupe Obama is trying to pull. Kudos to him for speaking at this gathering.
Jon Voight is a terrific actor, a patriot and an all-around stand-up guy.

BTW - the obedient media may have ignored the 20.000 people that showed up at the Capital yesterday, but the other senators and congress critters know they were there and that they came with only ONE WEEKS notice from an invitation from Michelle Bachman - and they know that there's not a one of them who could do the same...

I've found this is the pattern: If our side shows up, the dark side slinks away,like rats. They aren't used to the Silent Majority standing up and being heard and when it comes right down to it - they are sissies.
(I suspicion yesterday's jihardist terrorist may have been a sleeper who was triggered in a Wag the Dog move to overshadow the crowd at the Capital, Coming on the heals of the disastrous defeat in the elections Tuesday, they knew what an additional punch they'd be dealt if a large number of people once again descended on Washington. They came - and they came and they came - and then the terrorist attack at Fort Hood - which then dominated the news. I'm heartened today to see the White House and media spin dissolving and the truth coming out. The killer is not the victim...and PC has got to go. 10years ago, this cretin would have been summarily dismissed from the service long ago for things he did and said.
