Critics say that the tone and brevity of Obama's remarks on Fort Hood 'did not appreciate the gravity of what he represents' while others say he had the right presidential instincts.
As the U.S. military and law enforcement were scrambling to save lives after a deadly shooting rampage at Ft. Hood, Texas, President Obama opened his remarks Thursday with a two-minute "shout out" to audience members who attended the Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Interior Department.
Obama's initial comments on the shooting that killed 13 and wounded scores of others came at the conclusion of Thursday's conference, which was attended by leaders from several of the 564 federally recognized American Indian tribes.
"I planned to make some broader remarks," he told the crowd. "But as some of you might have heard there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas."
The president's words on the deadly rampage came two minutes after he gave a "shout out" to an audience member and stressed the need to pass health care reform.
"I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you," he said.

Anyone with half a brain would have separated the Tribal recognition thing from the comments on Fort Hood. By combining them, this immature half wit affirmative action clown besmirched the Native American ceremony and defiled our military. Obama and his Communist handlers, Axelrod and Emanuel are beyond the Pale. This clown show must be driven from the White House before the nation is destroyed...

In addition to his shout out, didn’t he also mention the support from the AARP and AMA for the health disaster bill BEFORE saying anything about the tragedy at Fort Hood? He’s on tv EVERY day so I could be mistaken. I swear, I’m home most days with the tv tuned to Fox and he is on there at least ONCE a day. I have to get up and change the channel.
The Party before Country defination can be applied to the CINC also...

Words are used like shootings , killings , ( couched in terms as if the victims could shoot back.)
This happened at a med facility where there was a long cue for flu shots and other medical processing.The perpetrator calmly got to his feet , reached into his jacket, drew two pistols and calmly started walking down the rows of people , pointing his weapons and shooting them calmly, point blank, in cold blood.
This was not “shootings” This was not “killings.” This was genocidal execution. These human beings were dispatched as if they were animals.One woman was 6 months pregnant.
TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH. GENOCIDAL EXECUTION is what this was.
