Scozzafava/Romney 2012???

Republican leaders in New York are raising the possibility of "punishing" state Rep. Dede Scozzafava, who withdrew from the race for Congress in New York's 23rd district and endorsed a Democrat, the Los Angeles Times' Top of the Ticket reports. Scozzafava endorsed Bill Owens after national Republicans backed third-party candidate Doug Hoffman and undermined support for her campaign. Conservatives said Scozzafava, who supports gay rights and abortion rights, was too liberal to run as a Republican.
New York Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb has been holding meetings with Scozzafava, in which he expressed his displeasure with her endorsement. He has openly floated the idea of removing her as the GOP floor leader. Scozzafava, meanwhile, has said she might not run for a seventh term in the state assembly next year. She reportedly told Kolb she's sorry if her endorsement put him in an "awkward position," but apparently stands by her decision.
"If this is my end, so be it," she told the Watertown Daily Times. "At least I know we have a congressional representative who is going to put the interests of the district above the interests of the Club for Growth and the Rush Limbaughs of the world."

On what grounds should they punish her? Dede made no secret of the fact that she is a flaming liberal. If anyone should be punished, it should be anyone in any official capacity in the GOP who supported her as a candidate.

How about instead the voters of New York punish the NY Republican party. That’s a better idea. Scuzzafuzza wasn’t a mistake. She was a deliberate RINO plant.
This stuff doesn’t happen by accident. Large segments of the GOP are openly hostile to conservatives.

Heard that one the original weighted tally, she got 45% of the vote, with several conservative candidates splitting the rest. Hoffman was on the ballot but way down. A pal of hers switched the vote of her county which had been 100% committed to a conservative candidate, putting her over the top. She is personable, and so the chairmen went along. Then De De applied for the Conservative Party endorsement. The nixed her because she had voted their way only 15% of the time in the Assembly, moving progressively to the left over the years. The Conservatives then went to the other nominees and only Hoffman was willing to take her on. Once this happened, it was found that several of the chairmen were unaware of her voting record. They had supported her because she was “nice.†The rest is history.
Geez, that’s why they chose her so the dims would win.
Strip her of every leadership position she may hold. Strip her of any chairmanships, committeee memberships she holds, and of any seniority she has. Remove her from ALL committee assignments. Refuse to co-sponsor ANY legislation she proposes. Most of all, SUE her for the $900+K the GOP pumped into her sorrya*s campaign.
If you can grow a collective pair, that is.

Dede should return all funds spent by the Republican party to support her ticket. She clearly is a Democrat, and she herself should, or she should get her Democrat friends to reimburse the Republican treasury.
If she had any integrity and party loyalty she would have supported another Republican. She is unfit for public office IMO.
