While no one yet knows what ignited Major Nidal Malik Hasan's murderous rage Thursday afternoon, Nov. 5, at Fort Hood, the kindling was hiding in plain sight. The Army had ordered Hasan, wrestling with the conflicting demands of being a soldier, a psychiatrist and a Muslim, to the post with the highest toll of Army suicides. Fort Hood is one of the Army's most stressed posts because of its units' revolving-door deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. Finally, the Army made clear that Hasan couldn't escape his own pending deployment to Afghanistan, where he'd have to salve the mental wounds of fellow soldiers killing members of his own faith.

What a pantload. An Army shrink at a stateside post is not under “stress.” Even deployed he would never be leaving the compound. Sheesh.

And another thing, Hood has the most suicides because it by far is the biggest post in the Army, has the most soldiers.

The way the article is written one would conclude that Muslims are incompatible with U.S. military service. These are Time's words not mine.

I haven’t read this article yet, but I wonder how many of these facts were mentioned...
Gave out Korans to neighbors morning of the attack.
Shouted Allahu Akbar just before killing.
Openly praised suicide bombers, calling them noble heroes.
When asked his nationality on a muslim community center application, stated Palestinian instead of USA, despite having no connection to palestine.
Gave a lecture to his psychiatric peers, instead of talking about psychiatry, ranted about how the koran teaches that non-believers should be decapitated. Peers wondered if he was a terrorist or just nuts.

Exactly what role Hasan's faith played in the shooting, if any, is unknown.IF ANY??
The p.o.s. shouted "allah akbar" as he was murdering people.
How does a person as stupid as Mark Thompson manage to find his way out of bed every morning?
What's amazing is that Thompson didn't find a way to twist the story to lobby for more homosexuals in the military.

That video earlier with Dr. Pill and that ignorant lady, mentioned PTSD. This guy hadn’t been in combat. As for his counseling of patients, he’s got a doctorate. He should have been able to handle that.
All the excuses in the world can’t explain away this.

Mr. Mark pantywaste Thompson

His repertoire is 100% anti-military/anti-war
Mark Thompson (born c. 1953) is an investigative reporter whose five-part series for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which ran in March 1984, on a design flaw in Bell helicopters that went uncorrected for a decade, killing 250 U.S. servicemen, led to 600 Huey helicopters being grounded and modified, and won the Pulitzer Prize for public service in journalism in 1985.[1][2] The Pulitzer Prize gold medal award.Thompson graduated from Boston University in 1975 and began his career at his hometown paper, the Pendulum, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.[3] After a spell in Pontiac, Michigan, he moved to Washington in 1979, where he joined the Washington bureau of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and in 1985, won the Pulitzer Prize for public service in journalism.[3] He joined Knight-Ridder Newspapers in 1986, where he reported extensively on the Persian Gulf War and the U.S. invasion of Panama.[3] In 1994, he joined TIME magazine as defense correspondent,[4] where he has written or co-written cover stories on the Army's use of prescription drugs on soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan,[a] the Marines' V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft,[b] the Army at the breaking point,[c] the wisdom of restarting the military draft,[d] and profiles of then-United States Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld,[e] and then-General Tommy Franks.[f] Thompson also reported extensively from Afghanistan and Iraq, reporting on the progress of the conflicts there and the unexpected lack of armor for the U.S. military,[g] and has written four major pieces on the true costs of the Iraq war -- an early look at the war's wounded,[h] a study of the U.S. troops killed in a single week,[i] the lonely vigil of an Ohio family whose son was the first American soldier in this war to be listed as missing in action,[j] whose remains were ultimately recovered in March, 2008,[5] and the death of a GI at the hands of Army medicine a year after he was slightly wounded in Iraq.[k]

I just had to walk away from a stupid liberal azz episcopal minster or whatever the hell they call him this afternoon .. before I DECKED him. His thing is that we are suffering from the stressors that Gerorge Bush brought upon this country. Of course doncha know “I don’t condone the Drs. actions, but I understand why he could snap.” And then he started in on the evils of the military .... a total Richard Cranium

The drumbeat of Hasan's victimhood continues...from the article:
The Army had ordered Hasan, wrestling with the conflicting demands of being a soldier, a psychiatrist and a Muslim...
the Army made clear that Hasan couldn't escape his own pending deployment to Afghanistan, where he'd have to salve the mental wounds of fellow soldiers killing members of his own faith.
Media has some 'splaining to do because they have spent the last eight years telling us that there is NO conflict between being a Muslim and being a soldier in the U.S. military.
If Hasan had been some white guy from Georgia, TIME would be laying out the case that his 'his deep Baptist faith informed his growing right-wing extremism.'
