He gave a Grand Rounds presentation. . . You take turns giving a lecture on, you know, the correct treatment of schizophrenia, the right drugs to prescribe for personality disorder, you know, that sort of thing. But instead of giving an academic paper, he gave a lecture on the Koran, and they said it didnt seem to be just an informational lecture, but it seemed to be his own beliefs. Thats what a lot of people thought.
He talked about how if youre a nonbeliever the Koran says you should have your head cut off, you should have oil poured down your throat, you should be set on fire. And I said well couldnt this just be his educating you? And the psychiatrist said yes, but one of the Muslims in the audience, another psychiatrist, raised his hand and was quite disturbed and he said you know, a lot of us dont believe these things youre saying, and that there was no place where Hasan couched it as this is what the Koran teaches but you know I dont believe it. And people actually talked in the hallway afterwards about is he one of these people thats going to freak out and shoot people someday?

So tell me again how yet another nutcase slipped through the cracks. Ah, that’s right, he’s from a protected group.
Wow!
Now, now. Let’s not “jump to conclusions” about this “alledged attack”.
Why is it always after the fact we hear how someone should have done something? Now we have how many dead and more wounded. Makes one sick.
Sure sounds like “compassion fatigue” to me.
NPR aired that?
Probably just once.
I wish someone had recorded it.
I’d still like to know more about the suspects. I don’t need names or even to know how they were “cleared”. I am just interested in what was happening to raise suspicions on these two men.
I understand that they have been released. Just would like to know how they originally fit (or were made to fit) into the puzzle.
But of course anyone complaining about this nutty behavior would have been immediately labeled a RACIST and sent to sensitivity training!
Like the internet postings defending suicide bombers that were killing our troops... maybe that should have been a big red flag instead of a minor yellow one.
He’s still alive and so therefore he’s still a “suspect”. Will Obamacare keep people like this on life support? Where is the death panel?
sounds like PTSD to me.../s
The man has zero compassion. None.

Political correctness to it’s logical conclusion....we all end up dead!
No crack this muzzie slipped through, it was a mile wide chasm.
If I were a Muslin officer/enlisted and I heard someone going off like that, I would report him. My guess is the the others are so indoctrinated in PC that they don’t dare tell the commander bad news.

“We know he was a devout Muslim, took his faith very seriously. We can’t say, of course, that that was relevant, here.”
The attitude behind this one sentence assures us that many more will be murdered in the same way.
Puh-leeze.
OK so a room full of shrinks couldn’t figure out the guy was dangerous????
Why is it always after the fact we hear how someone should have done something?
because to do something BEFOREHAND can be misconstrued as racial profiling, islamophobia, racist etc..no one wants to be labeled as such..

Sounds like from the interview that red flags on this guy were being waved the whole time he was at Walter Reed.
I worked on a major Army installation in this country for 18 years as a civilian employee. Believe me when I tell you that neither military or civilian personnel tell the commander anything he doesn’t want to hear. Do it and you’re considered to be a trouble-maker who is shunned by all.
Sounds like the audience was a bunch of racists.
Please tell me you photoshopped in Bin Laden’s framed image behind Hassan’s photo.
Read the transcript. NPR was working the “he was stressed out” angle and then painting military as 35% PTSD, etc. I’m glad I didn’t hear this.
“Ya know, we sat there watching the fuse burn on that bundle of dynamite, and asked ourselves if someone ought to go try and spit on the fuse and put it out. I still don’t understand why I got blown up.”
Until we get it through our collective heads that Extremism and Islam are one and the same, this kind of thing will continue. What will it take to wake people up? Do we need to have suicide attacks on the shopping malls?? Do we have to watch these murderers target out mothers, wives and daughters??
George W. Bush tried to warn America that these maniacs would follow us home if we did not defeat them overseas. He was right about that, but he is also as much to blame for this as the Congress and several Presidents before him are for allowing the Military to become one big social experiment.
I could see that line of thinking, most successful Muslims just get lower class to do actual attacks.
According to Dr. Phill and the left...He was just misunderstood and mentally unstable from something.....Not sure what it is....they haven’t come up with it yet. But it can’t be Islam./s
Gee, I can’t understand why he did it.
I already knew the news media was shabby and biased, but I am truly stunned by the reporting of this shooting. They must all be afraid they’ll be sued by Muslims. The media searching for the cause of this incident reminds me of O.J. searching for the real killers. Total nonsense.
What a way to spread the love of Islam: cut off the heads and pour hot oil down the throats of those who don’t convert. Makes for a good medical lecture, too. ROP
Maybe we need to send this information to Obama, he seems to be unaware of the 'facts'....
Darn, the Army HAD to be aware of what this man is. Were they too indimidated to do anything about it? Were they too overruled by stupid regulations that end up allowing things like this to happen?
YES. Political Correctness is ruining the country.
Who knew terrorists could get PTSD.
And what whack-jog superior STILL deemed him fit for duty after this “Koran” tirade ???
Whack-job that is ...
WEll, they do a bit of the pre-traumatic distress disorder routine, but it’s absolutely amazing that NPR ran this interview at all.
Even the LAT ran a piece mentioning Alahu Akbar in the headline.
And Drudge has had it up all day.
Going to be hard for them to bury this.
WHAT were all those so-called professionals in the audience thinking?? That this Dr. Hasan was an appropriate medical doctor to send to the frontlines to treat troops???
"GJELTEN: That's right, Steve. You know, you referred to the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. There's - almost seems to be a phenomenon that you could maybe call a pre-traumatic stress disorder. "
So now it's pre-stress, not post.
Sheesh.
I contacted the Chicago FBI Task Force, who was dismissive. He excused this physician's hateful deranged diatribe by saying I was mistaken. Even after I detailed 25K financial payments this madman made to the families of future Palestinian suicide bombers, the FBI refused to act against this physician. I was fired from my position at the University of Wisconsin two weeks later.
It is my conclusion that this Detroit based physician wants to kill all of us.
It is too sickening for me to comprehend. These people are sick. Try googling the subject of Fort Hood and see what you get... excuses and applause for the perp.
We are going to PC ourselves right into the grave.
Are you serious, or are you being facetious?
You need to get this info to Glenn Beck’s staff.
This is another 9/11, but you wouldn’t know it from the general response.
