Suspect, devout Muslim from Va., wanted Army discharge, aunt said
Washington Post ^

He prayed every day at the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring, a devout Muslim who, despite asking to be discharged from the U.S. Army, was on the eve of his first deployment to war. Yesterday, authorities said Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, a 39-year-old Arlington-born psychiatrist, shot and killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Tex.

-snip-

Hasan steered clear of female colleagues, co-workers said. Despite his devout religious practices, he listed himself in Army records as having no religious preference.

A longtime Walter Reed colleague who referred patients to psychiatrists said co-workers avoided sending service members to Hasan because of his unusual manner and solitary work habits.

My thought on this guy is he was very enthusiastic about getting a free medical education from the Army but when we went to war in Afghanistan and Iraq and thought he might be deployed discovered devotion to Islam.

I guess the SOB’s devotion to the Army was limited to accepting a free education from it while drawing full pay. How Islamic of him.

Obviously he had the same dim view of women as all believers of this nutty religion do. Then he has his jihad tantrum put to adbrupt halt by a woman busting four caps in his ass. Allah is not pleased.

Not to make light of the shootings, but the irony of him getting taken down by a woman is just too funny. He won’t be able to hold his head up around his jihad brothers in prison.

I’ve been thinking about the soldiers and how they are looking at this situation. Please excuse me, but if my commanding officer came to me and said “We must not look at all muslims in a bad light.” I would have to respond that “I have done my best to do just that. But now our own muslim officers are killing us. I think you are asking a bit much.”

To have been taken out by a little southern girl is going to bother him a lot.

From the article "A co-worker at Walter Reed said Hasan would not allow his photo to be taken with female co-workers, which became an issue during Christmas season when employees often took group photos. Co-workers would find a solo photo of Hasan and post it on the bulletin board without his permission."

All this killer would have had to do was to have demanded a copy of the Cheeky Kenyon Bastard’s birth certificate to prove he was really his boss. He would have been out or the Army in a flash.

On another subject, I think it is awful that the heroic woman who shot the killer has had her photo plastered worldwide. Who is going to provide protection for her from now on?

Is it me, or was that article written more like a eulogy to a regular guy than as a story on a terrorist? The Washington Post was painting this man as if he were a mild mannered Quaker from another century. I do not believe for one second that a psychiatrist, a medical doctor, endured other military personnel’s badgering because he was a Moslem. And because of this, a 37 year old grown man who ostensibly could not take the heat, then opens fires on people in a medical building? For goodness sake, that sounds like an incredibly lame excuse for his actions. Obviously, he was caught up in the jihadist spirit and was getting his inspiration somewhere. It is that somewhere which has me worried.

I’m having trouble with the “devout” Muslim part. They owned and operated a blue-collar beer joint called the “Capitol” and opened a “bar” and grill. Hmm...mm.

He listed “no religious preference” on his application to join the military. Hmm...mm.

He abhorred the thought of having to deploy to Iraq since Muslims should not perpetrate violence on other Muslims, but he would have never been called upon to do so, except in self-defense. Hmm...mm.

He “hated the thought” of having to go to the practice range, yet he managed to come up with two relatively sophisticated handguns. Hmm...mm.

He was given a half a million dollar education and a six figure salary on our dime and he was disenfranchised by the experiences of those he was called upon to heal. Hmm.mmm.

Finally, he was called names by biggots who served with him in the military (presumably his peers, as no grunt would have the moxy to call him a name to his face), and with all that education and “bookish” devotion he still manages to have the emotional and intellectual attributes of a six-year old. Hmm...mm.

In my humble opinion and very layman’s approach to the story, this was a severely conflicted guy. I assume we’re all supposed to simply say, “He had issues,” and give him a pass. You know, I remember reading that the night before the hijackers boarded the planes on 9/11, they were at a strip joint enjoying lap dances and hard liquor. Hmmm...mm. ... Hmm...mm.

Muslims are very patient people. They don't care how long it takes to reach their goals, 1, 10, 20,years or more.

Remember, they have been killing infidels for over 2 thousand years.

As a USUHS grad I’m appalled at what transpired here, but Hasan had incurred an active duty obligation of a minimum of 11 years for his education...he won’t serve it, but hundreds go his route, and can attest that all that education ain’t FREE.

“A longtime Walter Reed colleague who referred patients to psychiatrists said co-workers avoided sending service members to Hasan because of his unusual manner and solitary work habits.”

1. What the heck was he doing functioning as a psychiatrist to returning warriors from the battlefield? His superiors are guilty of complicity and enabling his heinous behavior. Heads need to roll; not in an Islamic sense, of course.

2. How much psychological damage has this ‘internal enemy combatant’ afflicted upon our military men and women from his misguided and deranged counseling?

3. Aside from committing physical murder by jihad on Americans, he was committing a psychological treasonous jihad on our service members and undermining American efforts.

How many more like him our enlisted in our military or working in our government?

Actually it’s only been about 1,332 years. But they’ll get there. Like you said, they’re patient. Something that most people do not understand. Remember when the Libs went mental at John McCain saying the war could last 100 years? he’s right. And Islam is fine with that.

Yes, I know that, and you are correct. I found that statement unusual.

Also, internships are only for 1 year (as far as I know). A residency (which was not discussed) can be for 3 to 4 years depending on the specialization. For example, internal medicine is 3 years, and general surgery is 4. From there, they can tighten up their specialty into something specific putting in more years to learn.

I think this speaks volumes, too:

At the Muslim Community Center, Hasan stood out because he would sometimes show up in Army fatigues, said Faizul Khan, the former imam there.

"He came to mosque one or two times to see if there were any suitable girls to marry," Khan said. "I don't think he ever had a match, because he had too many conditions. He wanted a girl who was very religious, prays five times a day."

In search of a partner in marriage, Hasan wrote in an application filed with a local Muslim matching service that "I am quiet and reserved until more familiar with person. Funny, caring and personable."

Muzzies seem to have no problem with selling alcohol to infidels. It's funny in Oakland to watch the local Black Muslims, who do have a problem with Muslims selling alcohol, go after the immigrant Muslims who seem to run all the liquor stores there.

It's a mystery. If I were about to make the “ultimate” sacrifice for my deeply held convictions, I wouldn't be anywhere near a strip joint and I wouldn't be swizzling Guzzler's Gin. Call me old fashioned, but it's just not something I would do.

I realize we all slip up. We all fall short, but none of us who actually take it seriously are looking to make a career out of it. Just sayin’.

I wonder if things would have turned out differently in his horrible life if his parents had been alive to arrange a marriage for him; there are so many stray comments about how he avoided female colleagues, how he had so many restrictions in whom he'd consider a viable marriage prospect -- what a complete pathetic travesty --- HOW in God's name did this individual pass any of the psychological tests that I've presumed are given to any type of counseler or psychotherapist -- much less a full fledged military psychiatrist.

Sorry, it's just ... really, this is absolutely unbelievable. And I feel SO bad for all the families, all the relatives, and friends & associates, YIKES, this is just terrible.

And... sadly, if he didn't see this Dr. Hasan... well, geesh... how MANY "dr.hasans" might exist?

I mean, it is simply inconceivable that the US Military considered this weirdo an appropriate person to send overseas to attend to the emotional needs of frontline troops.

WHAT were they thinking? A man who had become a medical doctor has so little control, so little self-discipline that when a stranger rips a bumper sticker off his car and rips it up -- the doctor gives away Korans and all his furniture & worldly possessions and then attacks soldiers???

This is horrifying, HOW many "dr.hasans" are currently in the military, and even if they had NO contact with any soldiers, just think of the negative impact they'd have on their colleagues, on other medical personnel.
