Today's CNN Poll asks if you're unemployed. Currently 19% say yes. I guess that means that CNN viewers are twice as likely as the national average to be unemployed.
No. It means the media always uses the statistic that makes Obama look good. In the case of unemployment that is U2, or short term unemployed, actively looking for work. The more realistic unemployment number is U6 which includes long term unemployed who have stopped looking for work (’the discouraged’) and those who have only part time work while wanting full time work (’the underemployed’).
The current U6 rate is 17.5%, up from 17% last month. CNN’s poll is probably closer to reality than the puffed up numbers that most of the media is reporting.
What is CNN?
That’s closer to the actual unemployment rate. They don’t use those who have given up looking for a job or those that have been underemployed (taken part time to try to make ends meet) in the numbers they put out there for public consumption.
Also most high school and college graduates who hasn’t landed a job after graduation isn’t counted since they don’t collect unemployment.
Who the heck wants to hire whining libs, anyway?
Who is CNN, never heard of them.
19%, I can buy that. When you have so small a population that you are surveying you can get very skewed results. The sample size has to be large enough to represent the entire population or must be truly statistical random and weighted.
Who else has time to watch CNN all day but a bunch of unemployed libs in their parent’s basement?
I’d bet MSNBC’s number of unemployed viewers is about 98%.
I wonder how Fox viewers would score?
