Question 1:
Is there a list of all Democrats regardless of whether they are liberal or "moderate" that would be vulnerable if they voted for the health care reform?
There is a list of blue dog democrats but that list is by the representative's political ideology instead of the district's ideology.
For instance Betsy Markey is a Freshman Democrat who ran as a blue dog Democrat in a mostly conservative district but has voted very far left liberal. She is not on the list of blue dog democrats but should be on the list of vulnerable Democrats based on the district she represents.
Question 2:
Yesterday there was a thread that talked about several people in Washington DC for "Kill the Bill" were arrested attempting to meet with Senator Bennett From Co. I have used the search and can't find it. Can any of you search gurus find it for me?
“Is there a list of all Democrats regardless of whether they are liberal or “moderate” that would be vulnerable if they voted for the health care reform?’
Don’t start thinking now! We just grabbed our pitchforks and lit our torches!
I'll start working on that list after the RINOs have been culled.
You don’t need a list. Any pol that votes for this UNconstitutional Fascist grab, gets voted out. PERIOD.
There was no follow up that I saw on the Bennet story, even in the Denver paper (surprise). What I surmise is that they were not arrested, but were merely escorted out of the Hart Senate Office Building.
My district example is Steve Driehaus (D-OH). He barely edged out Steve Chabot in 2008 and is from a very fiscally conservative district (and he ran as a fiscal conservative-moderate). He's not listed or defined as a "blue dog" but he won't get re-elected if he votes for this crap (and he's probably toast already just for his votes to date in this his freshman year).
Information is not very useful if it is not complete.
Don't you think that telling us what state you are talking about would be helpful?
The most moronic and incompetent response from a congresscritter that I have often heard is "You're not in my district, so buzz off!"
Those morons forget that regardless of whom they represent, their flawed decisions affect all Americans.
The most common analysis I have seen compares voting, by congressional district, in the 2008 Presidential Election vs. the Congressional election results. There are something like 40-50 first term Democrat representatives that represent districts carried by McCain. Additional analysis could look at Bush’s results from 2004, too.....

I was thinking a “target list” that consists of:
A master list made of Dems who won their seats by less than 5 points in either 2006 or 2008
-These are races where the GOP should at least try to pick a good candidate as they are winnable
A hot list of Dems whose districts have a Cook Index of R+0 or better for the GOP and Dems with less than 3 point margin of victory who still plan to vote for Obamacare OR Cap and Trade
-The ones we really should beat even with our eyes closed
The “Cook Index” is also useful, if I remember the name right.
I have never heard of the Cook Index.( I am probably showing my political ignorance). Could you elaborate a little about it and where we could find it?
This is an awesome list and has plenty of red meat to read about what is going on in various districts/states. I had not heard the scuttle butt about Cory Gardner in CO - 04 held by Betsy Markey before.
I went to the Tea Party in Fort Collins and met Diggs Brown, and several people were wearing Draft Diggs Brown for Congress stickers. He seemed like a really nice man and he also is considered a conservative by most. He just got back from a tour in Afghanistan the day of the Party.
I think that after I looked at his web site and read some of the material that he might be a good solid conservative candidate that has prior experience on City Counsel. AND HE IS NOT AN ATTORNEY!!!!!
There is another candidate for the same seat that is also very good so I don’t know who to work for. I think this seat is so important that I don’t want to sit out until after the primaries but I don’t know who to choose.
I think I might e-mail them both and ask them to convince me they are the best candidate.
(1) Re they strong enough in character to not be corrupted or otherwise be diverted from carrying out their promises and declared stands on the issues?
(2) What character and personality defects do you see the candidate as being prey to?
Carry out those lines of inquiry, and most candidates and public officials become relatively transparent.
