Virginia Tech confirms Texas shooting suspect's enrollment

Virginia Tech this morning confirmed that Fort Hood shooting suspect Nadal Malik Hasan graduated from the university in 1995.

Here's the full news release.

Virginia Tech has confirmed with the United States Army Human Resources Command in Alexandria, Va., that the alleged shooter at Fort Hood, Texas, once attended Virginia Tech.

According to Virginia Tech records, Nidal Malik Hasan first enrolled at Virginia Tech for Summer Session II in 1992, and completed coursework in Spring Semester 1995. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biochemistry from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He minored in biology and chemistry.

Prior to enrolling at Virginia Tech, Hasan was a student and completed coursework at Barstow Community College in Barstow, Calif., and at Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Va.

Hasan was not a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, nor was he a member of any ROTC program at Virginia Tech.

As a Chaplain, he’d have been direct commissioned, no ROTC needed.

Seems like this school has a problem with more than just a football team full of thugs.

I heard he joined the army at 27, so it’s pretty clear it was just for the money for medical school.

His cousin was on the phone on Fox News last night and claimed he joined the military right out of high school and was enrolled in ROTC at Virginia Tech. What his cousin did not say was whether he joined the US military or some other military organization about 21 years ago, circa 1988.

There appear to be a lot of years with blank spaces in his life.

These bastards ( Virginia Tech...Again!) are just as complicit in the murders as anyone else.

Let's give degrees out like confetti.

My guess is that he shouldn't have even graduated high school.

Did you know that there are soldiers buried at Arlington that died defending your butt in the WOT during the past eight years that that were Muslim?

Shame on you.

You throw away the Constitution at your peril. NOT MINE. I’ll defend it.

We didn’t have Germans in the army in WWI, nor Japanese during WWII, there should be no muzzies in our armed services during the War Against the Muslims.

That’s the problem.

We are fighting in a Muslim country, Iraq. At the beginning of the war we were told we were going after al Qaeda strong holds.

The response to 9/11 was those that attacked us... al Qaeda, and those that harbored them. Thus, we launched a war in Afghanistan.

AT NO POINT have we said that we as an American nation are fighting against Muslims. There are over a billion of them. Do you think we should bomb Mecca?

If so, just what do you think America IS? Are we going to fight American Muslims in our streets?

Have you forgotten our Constitution?

Have you forgotten that we are a country that was founded on the principle of Freedom of Religion and to abandon that will lead to our fall, most assuredly.

I weep for people like you.

Will we soon be treated to a story about Hasan being upset and feeling persecuted that his boyfriend, Cho, was killed in a similar blaze of ingloriousness?

We did have German-Americans in the armed forces in WW1. Eddie Rickenbacker had to change his name from Rickenbacher to hide his German lineage. We also had Japaneese-Americans serving in WW2. Check out the combat history of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

I actually worked with a man from the 442nd. He was highly decorated. Ben Chikami was his name and I think he passed away in 2001. Nice guy.

So you would rather allow these muslim traitors attack us from within? Banning them from the military should just be the beginning. We should close all of the mosques, dismantle CAIR, etc. They are just meeting places for those trying to kill us. It’s us or the muzzies.

In a certain way, I can tell you that we ARE losing BECAUSE we are fighting EXACTLY the way you describe: “They” are fighting a “real war” in OUR streets, cities, hotels, banks, airports (LA El Al counter - they shot a Jew for being a Jew), ships (they threw a wheelchair-bound tourist overboard for being a Jew) skyscrapers, and airplanes.....

“We” are trying to fight a war by being policemen who need a search warrant and authorization to go into a building WHERE THEY ARE SHOOTING AT US. “We” need court warrants to arrest people shooting at our soldiers and caught with weapons in hand - usually, that person is called a “prisoner of war” by the way.

Arbitrarily confine or fire Muslims? Probably not justified. Investigating or searching Muslims displaying suspicious behavior? Well - THAT is prohibited - “we” have to strip search old ladies walking through a airport metal detector with a steel hip implant.

“We” cannot stop and search a young Muslim male going through security BECAUSE “he is a Muslim. “ and will “possibly” claim he is “offended” at being searched.

The man was an American citizen.

In American, we FIRMLY hold to the principle of freedom of religion.

To remove that from the fabric of American life would make all religion in America targeted further. Do you want to give anyone in power today an inch of room that they could use today that would remove religious affilition from this group of people or that?

What if in 2045 you can’t serve in Congress if you are a Muslim?

Or in 2050 a Christian? If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile.

You can throw away the Constitution. As for me, I’ll defend it. Because my Christian children will still be here in 2050, and they’ll need the Constitution to protect them.

Fine. Throw up your hands and toss all the importance of freedom of religion because TERRORISTS... TERRORISTS.. use our system to attack us.

You don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.

The Constitution is too sacred.

Then maybe it is time we amend the Constitution so there is no doubt that this country was founded as a Christian country. That is what our founders wanted, if we continue to allow these muzzies to take over our country we will be living under their Sharia law. Which would you rather have? Christian law or Sharia law? Your answer shows where you stand.

Hmmmmn. Good point.

But the Muslims wait until after the baby is given birth. Then they murder the mother for adultery. (Rather unusual, but this time the father was immediately murdered upon sentencing of his “crime” ... The mother (at least) will be only be killed by stoning only after she has given birth ... to another Muslim. Normally, the Muslims only kill the women when two people are found committing adultery.

“Your answers show where you stand.”

Hmmmm... let me characterize what I read in your answers.

Fear. Anger. Hatred.

And disrespect for the blood of generations of Americans who have fought and died for the Constitution that you so willingly wanted to discard.

There has never been any doubt that this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.

You need not worry if I would stand for Sharia law.

I’m a Christian and an American. And I will pray that one day soon your heart will be loosened from its hatred to see that re-writting the Constitution in haste and fear is foolhardy, and it doesn’t work that way, for a reason.

Try starting a grass roots movement to overturn the protection of religious freedom as afforded by the Constitution. You won’t get very far at all.

And I’ll fight you every step of the way.
