Fort Hood, Texas (CNN) -- A civilian police officer who shot the Fort Hood gunman four times during his bloody rampage stopped the attacker cold, a U.S. Army official said Friday.
Officer Kimberly Munley of the Fort Hood Police Department is a "trained, active first responder" who acted quickly after she "just happened to encounter the gunman," said Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, Fort Hood's commanding general.

Officer Kimberly Munley
Bless you, ma’am.
She is a hero. I glad he lived. Now he can suffer military justice.
This certainly makes the Army look bad. A female civilian cop takes out the shooter while Army men are mowed down.
That said, hooray for her. She’s a heroine.
You saved lives that day, Officer.
You were the right one in the right place, not a great place to be - but you didn’t hesitate. - thank you.
Good shootin’, Tex!
Does a hero recognize herself as such? She is amazing.
You should be ashamed of that comment. The cop had the advantage of being armed and aware of the danger, and the soldiers were not.
Kudos!
Since he was a full fledged muzzie, we can assume that in his mind a woman is a second class citizen to be beaten when needed and to never speak to him in public. It must kill him (I wish it had) to know that a woman took him out.
What a stupid thing to say.
See my tag line.
It is extremely gratifying that this Muslim terrorist was taken down by a very brave and competent woman.
Proper honors should follow promptly for this office.
“Don’t call me ma’am, I worked really hard to be called ‘Officer’”

The Army doesn’t have m.p.s now?
Maybe she was the only one there who was armed... besides the perp
He'll have the best lawyers the Baraqqis can find.
Why?
Military justice. Hadn’t thought of that. Makes justice seem more possible.
What I am saying is that this is going to be the public perception.
It’s NOT my personal thoughts. I am saying this is how it is going to be seen.
Ping.
In what way? Those men were mostly unarmed. I don't know about you, but even with all the military training they get, I seriously doubt they'd want to be walking into a gunfight armed with nothing more than their fists.
The article also mentioned that she "happened to encounter the gunman." Had one of the male responders, be he civilian or military, been in the same position, it is likely the perp would have been immobilized as well.
That being said - good shootin' Officer Munley, and here's hoping you have a quick recovery.
I'm sure we'll learn more, but a report I heard this morning said one of the terrorist murderer's frustrations was that he'd been unable to find a properly deferential, traditional Muslim wife.
Do you think that the fact that she was allowed to possess a firearm on-base and they weren't might have had something to do with it?
Yeah, they do, and a lot of them are in Iraq and Afghanistan currently.
So the base augments the MPs that are still in country with civilian police.
Our nation is deeply grateful for your actions, Kimberly. You are indeed a hero.
Okay okay it was a stupid remark.
By idiots, maybe.
MPs deploy. Civilian base police do not.
With the current war tempo, MPs are often deployed with the units they support. Many DOD facilities and bases have moved to a civilian police force for consistency throughout deployments.
After re-considering it, if a soldier had shot him,m.p. or not, Holder would probably prosecute him/her under the Fereral Hate Crimes Act.
Unless the cancer of liberalism and political correctioness is surgically removed form the United States of America, America will cease to exist as America.

Snips.....
Texan police officer Kim Munley who shot Fort Hood gunman hailed as a heroine
“Sergeant Munley managed to hit Major Hasan four times but was herself hit by a bullet that passed through both her legs, according to witnesses.
Sergeant Munley had been the first armed person on the scene and had immediately taken him on.
She is likely to return home to a hero’s welcome, although her Twitter page which features a picture of her with the country music star Dierks Bentley at the Fort Hood “Freedom Fest” on July 4 suggests she is not the type to have her head turned.
Her Twitter biography reads: “I live a good life ... a hard one, but I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone’s life.”

Oops I forgot MSM is on the side of our enemies.
Hero!
I remain in awe of people like this. We owe them (and our soldiers) a debt of gratitude that can’t be repaid.
So you would just roll over and die? Heroes move forward regardless of the odds!
I don't know. I think Hassan would have preferred to die. Now he is going to have to suffer and those 72 virgins are going to have to wait.

No such thing as coicidence. Divine providence. Lets not forget who is in control. God placed a person with the ability and the courage to do the right thing in the fight against evil in the right place at the right time. Let us not forget this is a spiritual battle. Thank you God for your providence, and thank you, officer, for being willing to be His vessel. Your actions saved the lives of many who are willing to give their own for our country.......
I saw an interview yesterday where the question was asked if the soldiers were armed and the answer was that Fort Hood was their home so only the regular security people carry firearms on the base. I thought that was really interesting to hear.
She was probably using Army issue 9mm ball ammo and he wasn't.
Anybody know how long it has been military policy to keep privately owned weapons locked up on base?
It was when I served 1974-1978.
And like all gun control laws this one didn’t work as advertised.
I want him to die now, he does not deserve to get the special treatment in store for him via his attorneys and our courts.
I don't think you really meant to call the dead soldiers cowards ... but that's precisely what you said.
Oh, thats good, had not thought about his knowing a WOMAN took him down. Bless her, bless her, what a hero.
I was referring to the lady as a hero, but simple minds must see other things...
Thanks for keeping your gun at the ready. Thanks for not hesitating to use deadly force. My family’s prayers are for you and yours.
