Who is Nancy LeaMond? That's what I wanted to know after watching AARP's Exec. VP defending her organization's endorsement of ObamaCare to Joe Scarborough on Morning Joe today.
Click, Wikipedia, click: whaddayaknow? Turns out that before coming to AARP, LeaMond was a senior Clinton administration appointee and a top Dem congressional staffer. Surprise, surprise!

I hope 100,000 people cancel their AARP membership today. This is not in the best interest of the elderly.

You are right about the NEA /AARP connection. The National Education Assn has a link to Saul Alinskys “Rules” on its web site. I saw it last week and hope it hasn't been scrubbed by now.

When I tried to tell my friend that the AARP CEO is endorsing Obama-care, she told me that it couldn't be so and I must be mistaken since all the AARP members she knows are dead set against it. ALL OF THEM.

While conservatives have been trusting their representatives to protect their interests in D.C. The liberals have been busy setting up lobbying organizations and infiltrating existing ones.
Because we have not been doing the same, its up to us the average person to get loud enough to smother all the dollars those organizations use to corrupt our representatives.
This is no small war we are in folks.

Good information Mark.
Yesterday I called AARP and canceled my membership, paid thru 2013.
Lady was nice and wanted to know why. I told her the AARP support of Obamacare was the last straw and I could almost hear her sigh.

Any Freeper who remains a member of AARP after yesterday should have their posting privileges revoked. Here is the letter that I sent to Barry Rand, CEO of the AARP, a few weeks ago after receiving an unsolicited AARP membershp card in the mail:
Effective immediately, please do not contact me for any reason from now until a hundred years after my death. I have absolutely no interest in your Socialist-Marxist organization. Please remove me from all AARP communications of every and any kind, including, but not limited to solicitations, emails, telephone calls, etc., I do not want you or the AARP to communicate with me. In other words, leave me alone forever. Please take notice that I shall deem any and all future contacts from the AARP as an invasion of privacy and an intentional act to harrass and annoy me, which may result in legal action against you and your organization.
I then sent the letter back in the postage-paid envelope that the AARP provided with its solicitation. (The AARP only pays postage on the envelopes when they are used and therefore, I urge everyone to use these envelopes when telling the AARP to FO in response to unsolicited offers.)
To: governsleastgovernsbest
AARP members, when you call AARP to cancel your membership (1-888-OUR-AARP, 1-888-687-2277) demand your remaining dues back. They have to refund money for the remaining years of payment. It will cost them more to refund it than you will likely get, but that’s the idea.

Here’s a fun suggestion. May cost a few bucks but will certainly make a statement.
Print out the entire Pelosi Deathcare bill, all 2000+ pages, wrap it in plain paper, glue the AARP postage paid envelope to it and mail it back.

When you cancel your AARP membership remember to ASK for a refund for the remainder of the Subscription fee.
I did this yesterday and at the end of the call I asked when the money would be refunded and was told to wait while the call was transfered to another department. There was no problem but you do need to ASK or it will not happen.
