Fort Hood jihad shooter was disciplined for Islamic proselytizing
jihadwatch.org ^ | Nov. 5, 2009 | Robert Spencer

Posted on 11/05/2009 9:08:23 PM PST by Free ThinkerNY

CAIR has been working overtime (they're quoted in this article also), and the "Muslims fear backlash" victimhood machine is in high gear. No one, of course, is questioning whether there might be any connection between this man's devoutly held Islam and the massacre today. After all, how could there be any such connection? Islam is a Religion of Peace™!

"Massacre Leaves 12 Dead At Fort Hood," by Kevin Whitelaw for NPR, November 5 (thanks to Axel):

[...] The motive behind the shootings was not immediately clear, officials said....

Nothing can be made clear to those who do not wish to see.

A source tells NPR's Joseph Shapiro that Hasan was put on probation early in his postgraduate work at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He was disciplined for proselytizing about his Muslim faith with patients and colleagues, according to the source, who worked with him at the time.

I heard that the commanding general commented that he seemed to be after some of the 12 persons he shot.

In other words, he may have had a score to settle unrelated to US policies.

As for Islamic proselytizing, have you never been in the hospital when a Baptist preacher came though your ward?

I would be great if all of those who can’t wait to shoot off their mouths would only wait until we know some of the facts.

If we are going to execute all of those who rant about our military action in the near east, we will have to shoot 50% or thereabouts of the US population, according to some recent polls.

So it would be smart to wait and see whether this was religion thing or something more personal.

I'm unaware of the last time a Baptist preacher cut the head off an Episcopalian. Care to bring me up to speed?

No, but I am old enough to remember when the KKK and others of similar bent quoted the bible and considered themselves to be righteous.

Oh, yes...wasn’t there something about the inquisition?

And those witches that got burned...?

Maybe you should do a little reading and get back to us later.

he wasn't a cleric.. he was supposed to be a doctor.

you're probably right about this having nothing to do with his religion. It's not like he said the he thought that the Arkansas murders were "good things".. or that Muslims should "rise up against the invaders".. or that he was ...muslim. It's just so out of character for muzzie douche bags to resort to violence.

Your thought process is what is allowing muzzies to infiltrate our armed forces and I'd be shocked if anything at all changes as far as public policy. We will add mosques to all the bases, we will observe Ramadan and modify our training of these poor religious victims. In other words we will do NOTHING about this.

The 12 dead and the 20-30 wounded are just casualties bought on by our capitalistic, Christian, gas guzzling, Big Mac eating, stripper loving, gay bashing soldiers occupying the Mid East in order for Halliburton and Big Oil to profit, doncha know.

Photobucket

this is how I feel...

The Inquisition was 500 years ago, the Salem witch trials were 300 years ago. The KKK has been out of business for 40 years.

Muslims are killing people TODAY.

Maybe that little fact has escaped your attention.

Wipe out the lot of them, and nuke that stinking black rock they dance around. Nerve gas the survivors. Then airstrike the rubble until nothing is left twitching.

It's the only way to be sure.

I agree that there is a huge problem with the radical Muslims and we should not tolerate it.

I am far from PC.

But at the same time, you can’t refuse to have anything to do with 2 billion people.

Especially when they control a lot of things that we want.

The real problem is that we are being too PC about dealing with those who are over the edge.

My own opinion is that we should put very strict limits on how many we allow to enter this country. The number should be so small that we get the best, those that have something that benefits us. Not one more.

The KKK is not going to overthrow the US, that is certain.

But if you don’t think they can kill 12 people and hurt a lot of others.....dream on.

You have heard of the little dust up that happened in Greensboro, NC, 25 years or so haven’t you?

The only reason they didn’t kill more was they ran out of people to shoot.

The point is that there are bad people everywhere and good people everywhere.

Granted in a lot of places there are a lot more bad than good, just as in others there are more good than bad.

We just need to figure out how to sort them out and how to deal with each.

Apparently we have not got it right yet.

Neither has Europe.

And I agree that there are certain parts of the world that we should reduce to molten rock.

But not 2 billion people.

Look up how many Muslims are in India...we need India.

Look up how many are in the Philippines....strategic to us.

There are many other similar countries.

So we got three Choices:

1. Kill them All, No Problem with me.

2. Become Energy Independant, Obama has precluded that.

3. Become a Dhimmi and pay the Jizya. So maybe YOU don’t mind Slavery.

For me I see only one option Because the Libs won’t allow us to have Option #2.

I will say this: radical, aggressive, bring back Sharia-type Islam is a real threat to the west.

I will also say there is a First Amendment.

There are also probably a good number of Islamic believers in the military. There have been a very small number of incidents.

The problem for the west will be how to deal with the politicized dark side of Islam because it is very much at war with the West at the same time as not compromising our liberty.

This man was born in America. But he managed to grow to a belief that led him to take action, treating us as the enemy.

I don’t have good answers how to juggle it all. I’ve known a lot of muslim people who were a delight to know, but that was before everything radicalized in the 90s. I know their hard core theology is a threat to huge amounts of what I believe.

PC approaches are for sure not the way to deal with it. I am not sure if the current administration will give us much more than that, though.

Good thoughts.

I just looked at the latest news posts and it appears that this guy was a nutcase going back for some period of time.

It would appear from what I am seeing now that the army was too tolerant with him and that he should have been discharged long ago.

They are quoting in the news things that he posted on the internet and comments he made verbally that should be totally unacceptable for any member of the military, and especially unacceptable for an officer.

It certainly is correct that there are many things in the Muslim religion that we can't tolerate, but that still does not make all Muslims terrorists.

Look at Catholics, for instance. How many do you know that profess to be devout Catholics, but practice birth control, get abortions........

Some of them famous....the Kennedy clan and many others.

Not all Muslims believe 100%.

This scum is a serial murderer but he got his work done in three minutes instead of years

This is classic *sudden Jihad* syndrome. This low life needs some serious debriefing before he gets lawyered up. With our Muslim president this is unlikely to happen

As soon as I heard about this mass murder I figured black Muslim. I was only 50% right. What we have is a Muslim import. A foreigner who I’m sure the PC crowd in the military loved

Not too many Muslim shrinks around so he got plenty of undeserved respect

There are probably 2,000 scum bags in that neighborhood that would kill you for your watch.

So we should nuke Chicago?

Then there is Miami. What happens there if you make the wrong turn coming out of the airport driving an out of state or rental car?

So we should nuke Miami?

We definitely should nuke Iran, right? Just full of those bad guys.

But wht about the fact that there are literally millions in Iran that are trying to change the country?

Sorry you don’t get it.

I am not trying to hi-jack this to be anti-religion.

I would like to see an intelligent discussion of the problem rather than a series of one liner rants that show little more intelligence than Allahu Ahkbar.

More and more keeps coming off the news wire to the effect that the guy was a nutcase, that the army knew about it and did nothing to kick him out.

Of course, they will execute him and rightly so, but it is obvious that the army should have kicked him out long ago.

Which gets to my point.

We are not doing an adequate job of identifying those who are dangerous and getting rid of them before they do damage.

The FBI has done some excellent work in preventing terrorists, but nutcases slip through the cracks because they are not terrorists. They don’t do the things that terrorists do; like rent big trucks and try to buy tons of nitrate.

And we have too many PC laws that prevent us from doing anything.

This guy should have been kicked out of the army, possibly after being put into some kind of mental ward in an effort to defuse him...

Immigrants who are legal or illegal or even naturalized who show signs of potential violence against the US should be sent back to the country of origin regardless of citizenship status.

That especially goes for the wild eyed foaming at the mouth crazed mullahs that infest the Muslim communities.

One of the things that’s really hard to prevent/plan for is what I’ve called “Sudden Jihadi Syndrome,” which is usually when an unhappy individual begins to hide themselves in the tenants of radical Islam, and suddenly, without warning, does something violent that takes a whole number of people with him. Such people frequently aren’t members of terrorist cells, although they may be religiously active, or they may just revert back to the religion of their childhood.

It’s a type of terrorism that is very hard to plan against, any more than you can plan against the crazy, miserable man who went into a McDonald’s and shot it up, or who goes and decides to kill his wife, his wife’s family and all his children, or climb to a clock tower and be a sniper.

This guy, though, gave enough symptoms to show he was unhappy about what was going on. Did someone drop the ball? Or did they just not realize he had the potential to snap? I suspect the latter. Unfortunate decision.

I am pretty much in agreement with most of what you posted in #47. It was your

"As for Islamic proselytizing, have you never been in the hospital when a Baptist preacher came though your ward?"

that turned your discussion of the shooter and Islam toward an all-purpose anti-religion rant -- which was off-topic and irrelevant to what happened at Ft Hood......
