Fox DC ^ | 11/5/2009 | Roz Plater

Posted on 11/05/2009 8:37:58 PM PST by Saije

The D.C. area Islamic community has been quick to condemn Nidal Malik Hasan's alleged attack on dozens of people at Ft. Hood, Texas. They're taking a stand, and trying to cut off any impending backlash.

D.C. area Arab-American leaders are calling for calm. They do indeed fear there will be a backlash. They told FOX 5 the hate calls and hate emails have already begun.

I understand who the “bad” ones are. Murderers are evil no matter what their cause. Most (nearly all) Muslims are not murderers.

You would banish an entire group of people simply based on their religion? Isn’t there something in the US Constitution about that?

Banish??? Nah. I think we should ask the japanese what Americans do with the constitution when they're p#ssed off.

I’m not going to second guess the leaders during WWII and the Japanese internment, but no way do I think the US Constitution should be suspended or ignored simply because some folks don’t like a group of their fellow Americans. An American Muslim has the same rights as you, and you have absolutely no right to suspend their rights simply because you don’t like them.

Banishing, deporting, incarcerating a whole group of people based on some sort of religious test, the details of which would violate our core American principles, is wrong.

“I am asking for anyone of good will to show me. Send me examples of Islamic religious scholars rejecting, on Islamic grounds, jihad violence against non-Muslims; rejecting the idea that Sharia law should be instituted in the Muslim and non-Muslim world; and teaching the idea that non-Muslims and Muslims should live together indefinitely as equals. Send me rejections of the ideas that women should not enjoy full equality of rights with men. Send me information that shows that those who write such rejections are not lone voices crying in the wilderness, with the wolves of Islamic orthodoxy ready to pounce upon them, but that they represent broad traditions within Islam and have large followings.”

I’ll be right here, Robert Spencer (director@jihadwatch.org)

When will they have sensitivity training for the Muslims? I can think of a few topics they could use:

“How To Work With Infidels Instead Of Shooting Them”

“No, Achmed, Jews Don’t Drink The Blood Of Palestinian Babies”

“The Female Ankle: Not A Sinful Body Part”

“Camels, Little Girls, And Little Boys: Inappropriate Choices For A Sexual Partner”

Etc.

plinyelder: “If I threw you into a pit of Vipers that I had pulled the fangs .. on one.”

You could purge society of every last Muslim, but there would still be mass murderers around. Aren’t serial killers more likely to be white males? I think I’ve read something like that in a study before.

Do I think Muslim organizations should be targeted for greater scrutiny? Yes, of course. Do I understand the anger? Yes, definitely. Nevertheless, anger does not justify what some here are proposing. Find and eliminate real threats. Don’t indiscriminately target a whole group of folks based on their perceived beliefs. That’s un-American!

CAIR Is a front, nothing more, I don’t trust one word of their “apology” they have been raising money for terrorists and apologizing for them for years, its why they exist. They have zero credibility.

I just asked one question and now suddenly you are lumping me together with whoever you are calling "some of you".

Seems like you are doing what you are accusing those "some of you".

But on to the point I'm trying to make. It is not unreasonable to question an ideology which promotes itself as a religion when in fact the core, fundamental teachings of the ideology are contrary to the United States Constitution. As you seem to understand, Islam is more than a religion.

War is war and ‘sometimes’ the innocent will suffer.

JeepInMazar: “It is not unreasonable to question an ideology which promotes itself as a religion when in fact the core, fundamental teachings of the ideology are contrary to the United States Constitution.”

Agreed. Scrutinize, question, and even condemn those beliefs that are incompatible with American liberty. I’d apply the same standard to a Muslim American that I would to a liberal. I don’t like or agree with their beliefs, but they are entitled to them. A liberal totalitarian is little better than an Islamic one, eh?

plinyelder: “WE ARE AT WAR with these people.”

With all due respect, that’s simply not true. If so, how can you explain the millions of Muslims who are our allies in this war? In fact, there are foreign Muslims right now who are dying on the battlefield with our own servicemembers (some of whom are also Muslim) in the fight against radical Islam.

Backlash?

You mean non-Muslims might eventually resent and resist a 14th century religion that teaches hate for folks who aren’t members? That cuts non-members heads off, etc. That oppresses women (not that Liberal women have the guts to speak up), etc.

Imagine that!

WAHHHH! Muslims always cry, bitch and moan about being victims, especially after one of their own performs a terrorist act.

As if a f*king “hate” call or email could compare to the horrific violence and destruction these animals cause.

As another FRper astutely observed, probably 90% of the e-mails and calls (if they exist at all) were made by other muslims to create the impression of, oh my God, “persecution!”

"So what if muzzies get banished from the US. They want to kill all Americans. So they should not be here. They can go to live in some muslim country like France or Saudi Arabia or England or where ever."

Didn't Barack Hussein Obama declare that we are not a Christian nation?

we'll see soon enough. It's happened more than once before, but of course we're much more civilized now, right?

It's not like we could ever have ethnic cleansing in modern day Europe or say, a leader of a nuclear power say he'd like to wipe an entire country off the map.

You tell me how many muzzies have to wipe out malls, kill troops, fly into buildings, randomly kill Americans in sniper attacks, run over groups of people standing at bus stops, advocate for the death and destruction of this country or of people of Jewish and Christian faiths....

I figure when we get about to the point where one of the politician's family or a rich person's family is murdered by muzzies, then just maybe we'll get some action.

Otherwise I agree with you. We'll just tsk-tsk, "what a shame" on our knees in front of the altar of political correctness. After all we've got a God fearing, American loving President that will protect you..... hmmm, mmmm, mmmm.

That's what the libs and the democrat party are failing to understand. The American public and people in general have a distrust for the government, they don't believe that it does ANYTHING well. During hard times that distrust is going to bite them in the @ss. You can't ask for sacrifice if nobody believes anything you say. It's over for the dems.

Now if we can just get rid of CHET EDWARDS the Pelosi/Barney Frank democrat representing the district right next to Ft. Hood we'll call it even.

Well there'd be a couple of thousand more people in New York, about a dozen live people her in Texas and .... now that I think about it... if you could purge every last muzzie... eh.. let's try it and see how it works out. If we miss them, we can always start it up again.
