I was a psychiatrist in the Air Force, 74-76, and I can tell you his Commander would of had his a** on my doorstep the next morning after he found out about his writings and comments. His commanding officer would be wanting an "unfit for duty" discharge . . one of those letters: "it serves the interest of the Air Force and Sgt. Whomever that he be booted out", etc. The OIC would usually call me on the phone too and explain his concerns about the individual. They didn't mess around. We're talking people around B-52s, nukes, security policeman, virtually anyone on the base as it was a SAC base. The situation would be taken care of ASAP and the individual would be in out-processing within a week. There wasn't any PC then. . . The individual sections, especially Munitions Maintenance and Security Police wouldn't take any chances with anyone who even squeaked an unpatriotic word or anything that was remotely flaky. They wanted them Out and they didn't care if they were black, white or yellow. I just don't remember any Muslims then except the fake black Muslims, but that was the reading Malcom crowd and black power, etc. They were different - not lifelong Islam Muslims.
