SANTA FE The parents of a Fort Hood soldier were relieved the first word they got about the mass killings at the U.S. Army base near Killeen was their son was OK.
Were it not for a mended broken foot, however, Pvt. James Hunt, who grew up in Santa Fe, might have been in the line of fire, his father said.
A soldier opened fire at Fort Hood on Thursday, unleashing a stream of gunfire that left 12 [now 13] people dead and 31 [now 30 - R.I.P] wounded.
Authorities killed the gunman and apprehended two other soldiers suspected in what appears to be the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base.
Tom Hunt, himself a former Army sergeant who was stationed at Fort Hood, said his son called about an hour after the shooting to tell him he was safe....

Hunt said his son told him he loaded up many of the wounded and drove them to the hospital. The wounded relayed what they saw inside when the shooting happened.
They were telling him that one guy was shouting something in Arabic while he was shooting, Tom Hunt said. He couldnt say much more than that.
btt
Yeah, I can’t imagine what he was shouting.
>> shouting something in Arabic while he was shooting
Nothing to see here. Move along. Yet another soldier pissed off at George Bush. Can’t be anything more than that. Move along.
It is amazing that, in Texas, you are safer to pull out a gun and start shooting on a military base than you would be in the average Texas restaurant.
A report just came across the TV as “another suspect picked up.”
Ironic that the killer was at both Virginia Tech and Killeen TX.
There was an article posted here on free republic stating a witness reported hasan shouted anti american statements before or during the shooting, now I can’t find it so I need some freeper help. If anyone commented to it or pinged to it please forward me a link.
Right - Texas Congressman is saying that the 2 suspects who had been arrested are now released but a third suspect has now been picked up for questioning - and that the Base is not “all clear” yet.
If I were you I would rethink that statement. Luby’s in Kileen outside Fort Hood was the scene in the early 90’s of a shooter who killed numerous people when he decided to walk in Luby’s and start shooting. The driver of a pickup truck who drove through the front window killed 24 people that day in the restaurant.
Sudden Jihad Syndrome.
There was a comment on another thread that a “Colonel Lee” was interviewed this afternoon on TV and mentioned his previous contacts with Hasan and the anger that he displayed against America:

Absolutely. The firearms policy at Ft. Hood has been ramped up of late (and is enforced a bit more stringently for enlisted men, as is expected): they now demand to know what soldiers have access to when they live off base.
I’ll bet that the zero won’t even allow his sycophants to call it a “man caused disaster”.
thanks but this isn’t it. I could swear that the person was a witness to the shooting
Waiting for details on how a lone Army psych armed with two handguns killed 12 and injured 31 ON AN ARMY BASE. All afternoon, there were either one or two additional suspects...six hours they’re released with no explantion.
Reminds me of the detailed and repeated descriptions of suspects after the OKC bombing who, suddenly, weren’t.
(Shep Smith is sure a lot of injuries were caused by
“panic”, and not shots from the lone gunman...)
This could rival the Single Bullet Theory.
I'm sure it's nothing that the muzzie in chief hasn't said before.
The Luby event was the motivation that bill.
The military cover up way: transfer this guy out of Walter Redd and dump him on Ft.Hood, then FT.Hood ships him overseas. The generals KNEW he was a bad apple and they are covering up their cowardliness while our troops suffer.
PLUS, deny other involvements...a shrink who can kill this many? I work in the mental health field and they don’t have the ability...nuts yes...but able to pull this off without being charged by soldiers there..I think not. Conspiracy.
0bama's "most beautiful sound on earth?"
“Reminds me of the detailed and repeated descriptions of suspects after the OKC bombing who, suddenly, werent.”
case closed. you have it nailed. trying to explain this to someone tonight...assumed they remembered OKC...my mistake.
However, you are not me. A status that I am sure both of are grateful for.
And it seems this Malik guy was fighting being shipped over to Iraq - earlier fellow officer (now retired) said he knew this Major was against America being at war and for Muslims in those countries standing up to us...and that he was fighting his shipment overseas through channels....
And as we have seen - through other ways.
Well, he succeeded - he is not going to Iraq now.
That was before the CHL law.......post 5 is dead on accurate !
Is this the article (link to the article above)

A soldier said the guy was shouting in arabic as he was shooting.
Sleeper cell....muslim SOB.....
Agree. However, I suspect they were pushing him to disobey an order so they could dismiss him but there is no mention of his private practice if anything. Sometimes it is the money and comfort of America, lest they really care about the USA.
A Muslim doctor was punched out by another doctor at McKeesport Hospital(PA) after he expressed glee on 9/11/01.
Don’t doubt this guy has had instructions from fellow Muslims....he had to have had that.
My bet is those Pali women are doing all their tongue clucking hollering tonight as they did on 911.
Nope but thanks for trying.
Ugh - AP is reporting (according to Fox) that military was alerted to this guy 6 months ago!
In case this confuses someone, there is a small town near Galveston, TX called “Santa Fe”. This has nothing to do with New Mexico.
Obama and military will therefore cover this up or if revealed he will break whatever deal he made with them and blame the military but not “our brave soldiers”. He knows the bureaucratic way; master at that but not leadership.
