Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

If there was any poetic justice: Imagine a scenario where lefties are cheering the bumrush move and failure to disclose the contents of the pending bill, calling their representatives to vote for it. Then, when the details are unveiled AFTER the vote, it is revealed that the bill was actually to strike the Dems’ bill in its entirety. Imagine the collective outrage on the left and the cries of “Why didn’t we get to read it first? Why did you go back on your promise to make it public before the vote?”

Not gonna happen in a million years, but funny to think about nonetheless!

Effectively, no one has had time to read the 2,000 pages. Absolutely, no one will have time to read the last bowel movement of secretly written amendments. Necessary, no one will be allowed to return home (even in the event of national tragedy) and hear from their constituents before they are forced to vote.

I'd express shock that Dims think they can get away with this. But, then, why shouldn't they? They already did with Porkulus. They'll keep it up, and do worse, piling outrage on outrage, until compelled to stop.
