There was a great article on the Fox Business site yesterday where some guy had run the numbers on Ford and they are still almost $100 billion in the hole. The current profit/success is just a series of accounting tricks to portray things as better than they actually are. Also, although they didn't take TARP money, they did get almost 1 billion in funds from the Energy Dept. and other government entities.

But for now, if I buy American, it’ll be a Ford: no government motors for us.
