MoveOn.org is sending out emails today seeking more contributions for its campaign to defeat any Democratic senator who does not fully support Obamacare. Yesterday the left-wing activist group asked members to contribute "to a primary challenge against any Democratic senator who helps Republicans block an up-or-down vote on health care reform." Today, MoveOn reports that it has received $2 million in pledges in less than 24 hours. "It's a clear sign of how angry progressives would be at any Democrat who helps filibuster reform," MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben writes in the new email.
A deathblow to ObamaCare

CHRIS Christie's gutsy win in New Jersey puts the arrogant big spender Jon Corzine in his place. But it is the election in Virginia that probably has more to say to marginal Democratic congressmen considering how to vote on health-care reform.
Obviously, Christie's victory is a body blow to Obama after Corzine outspent the Republican by five-to-one and the president put on a serious push for the incumbent. Corzine's defeat sends a message that the nation is moving sharply against Obama.

After more than a decade of public health care with mandatory coverage, so many Canadian doctors have left the practice and so many young people have entered other fields that Canada ranks 26th of 28 developed nations in its ratio of physicians to population. Once, Canada ranked among the leaders in the number of physicians -- but that was before government health care drove doctors out of the practice in droves.

Three cheers for Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C.
In a blistering critique of the socialized health-care bill expected to be passed by the House this Friday, she said: "I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill than we do from any terrorist right now in any country."
She's fundamentally right though she has taken a pounding from many in the media who see such rhetoric as inflammatory.
In fact, she has clarified the issue for many Americans.
Terrorists can only kill some of us.
Health Bills Too Timid on Cutting Costs, Experts Say: Proposals Make Only Trims...

Democrats in Congress are embracing the spirit of President Obama's call to slow the runaway rise of health-care costs but are shying away from some of the most aggressive techniques for achieving that...
Instead of revolutionizing how care is delivered and paid for, experts say, the legislation being shaped takes a cautious approach to reining in costs...
"The bills are directionally correct, but they're not going far enough," said George Halvorson, chairman and chief executive of Kaiser Permanente and the author of "Health Care Will Not Reform Itself."...

Washington, Nov 4 - House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed in a letter tonight that the Republican health care plan will lower health care premiums by up to 10 percent and reduce the deficit by $68 billion over 10 years without imposing tax increases on families and small businesses:
Abortion language complicates Democratic health efforts

Divisions in the majority party in the House and Senate could delay legislation into the new year. Abortion funding in particular shows a chasm between party liberals and moderates.
Reporting from Washington - House Democratic leaders, while insisting that the finish line is in sight on their overhaul of the nation's healthcare system, have hit a last-minute snag over the abortion issue. Senate Democratic leaders, meanwhile, are continuing to have problems winning over moderates in their own party -- raising the possibility that the climactic votes on healthcare might be pushed into next year.

The House health-care reform plan unveiled last week by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would do more than regulate insurance companies it would even regulate vending machines.
The bill, which is posted online, would require that vending machine operators either create new machines that allow the customer to view nutrition facts or post nutritional information for each product near each article of food or the selection button.
A long day and long lines at Glendale swine flu clinic (ObamaCare Preview)

Long lines at public flu clinics -- initially intended to primarily serve the uninsured -- are now commonplace nationwide as doses of the vaccine remain scarce. Many clinics report seeing large numbers of people who have insurance but have been unable to get H1N1 vaccines from private doctors, who say they have either already run out or have yet to get any.
The line at the Glendale clinic, the first to be held in that city since Los Angeles County received doses late last month, was the longest yet, county Department of Public Health officials said. And the stakes were high, with just 2,400 doses on site when the doors opened.
About 20 nurses walked the line to screen out the ineligible.

House Democrats cleared the way Wednesday for a pivotal floor vote on health care overhaul as early as the weekend, after tweaking their 1,900-page bill to crack down harder on insurance companies.
"Americans are ready for comprehensive health insurance reform and the House will soon act," Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement that accompanied dozens of last-minute changes to the bill, released Tuesday night.

Delay is rarely good for politicians trying to pass legislation. The possibility that Congress might not complete action on a major health care bill this year is another frustration for President Barack Obama and his allies.
A delay would raise new uncertainties and push other domestic priorities further back. Even some House Democrats with safe seats don't like the idea of voting on a contentious bill until it's clear that the Senate will follow suit.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Democrats pushing for healthcare reform shrugged off their losses in two governors races and said on Wednesday the results made it more imperative to deliver on campaign promises to overhaul a failing system. A reduced Democratic turnout and a drop in support from independent voters fueled Republican wins in Virginia and New Jersey, but Democrats said the outcome would not sidetrack President Barack Obama's top domestic priority -- a sweeping healthcare overhaul.

According to 60 Minutes, cocaine trafficking has now given way to Medicare fraud as the number-one illicit enterprise in South Florida. Both 60 Minutes and the Washington Post report that nationwide Medicare fraud now costs American taxpayers $60 billion a year.
The 60 Minutes story is fully of juicy anecdotes about government incompetence. There's the criminal who says that stealing from Medicare is so "easy" that "it was ridiculous." There's the lady who for six years has been telling Medicare officials that strange and extravagant charges keep showing up on her explanations of Medicare benefits--charges that officials still have yet to prevent from accruing, and from being paid by tax dollars. And there's the man on Medicare who used his own hands and arms to open up his explanation of benefits, only to read that Medicare had been billed--and had paid--for two new (prosthetic) arms on his behalf.

If the insurance industry thought its early support for health care reform would earn it some points with Democrats, it recently got a rude awakening.
After America's Health Insurance Plans, the industry association representing health insurers, released a study showing that premiums would rise 18% under the Senate Finance Committee's reform proposal, President Obama accused the industry of waging "deceptive and dishonest" attacks to derail reform legislation.
Well, I guess we will see article in the Wa Compost, NY SLimes and cable news about how the Rats are trying to influence the outcome of Death Care by threatening those who don't march in lock step with them or how there is deep division within their ranks? /sarc
Who are they going to get to replace the Blue Dogs when Independents are turning away from the Socialist agenda DEAR LEADER and his Politburo are advancing?
They may have deep pockets, but we have truth justice and the American way on our side and Superman never lost a battle against evil and that is what we are up against: PURE EVIL!
Of course we have to keep a sharp eye out for those within our party RINO's, DIABLO's, Blue Bloods, etc., who are apt to sprinkle kryptonite dust on our side, which I believe is more of a concern for us that the opposition.
