Obama-Pelosi to Health Insurers: Shut Up or We'll Shut You Down

President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and their Democratic followers in Congress have a rather draconian message for the private sector: Speak now, and we'll make you forever hold your peace.
Up until a few weeks ago, America's health insurers were sheepishly on board with the Obama-Pelosi health care reform plan. Perhaps the industry feared that voicing any concern about the plan would unleash the ire of an increasingly rabid Democratic majority on Capitol Hill. As it turns out, the health insurers were right.

To listen to the rhetoric of Obama, Pelosi, and their far-left followers, the First Amendment right to free speech is a sacred cow among sacred cows -- so much so that even dunking a crucifix in urine or smearing animal dung on the Virgin Mary is to be protected, lest we end up on a slippery slope toward Marxist-style censorship... But when the subject turns from fecal art to a private sector industry conducting an analytical study on the costs of the Democrats' government-run health care plan -- well, that's like yelling "boondoggle!" in a crowded Capitol. That sort of free speech simply can't be tolerated, and certainly can't be protected. Ironic, when you consider that political speech was precisely what the Founders wanted protected. The other would have been considered indecent and would have been subject to obscenity laws. But that's the left, always getting it backwards.
In any case, the only thing that amazes me is how tamely companies and in fact entire industries are just sitting down and shutting up. He wouldn't have any power against them if they'd stand up and fight back; yesterday's elections proved that less than a year later, any influence Bambi may have had has evaporated, and there is an increasing popular movement against him. The companies and industries should speak out, come hell or high water.
But maybe they're actually just waiting for their shot at fascist crony capitalism.

Nose bloodied?
How about we storm the Capitol,
Grab Pelosi and a few others and hang them from a statue in front of the building.

I’ve thought how wonderful it would be to plant a rotten tomato on Pelosi’s ugly mug while she is in stocks.
Also thought of honey and red ants on Reid while in stocks.
As for Obamma lamma ding dong?
Can’t say what I’d like or I’ll get a visit from some govt. goon.

The health insurers had better speak up because the dirty little secret is this:
Nurse Nancy Ratchet HAS EVERY INTENTION OF SHUTTING YOU DOWN ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you had better speak up while you still have the freedom to do so because if Nurse Nancy Ratchet gets her way and this "Deathcare" bill passes, you are all going to be OUT OF BUSINESS!

Doesn't this put the insurance industry in a 'lose-lose' quandary? Wouldn't that be a non-quandary?
Since these people have already lost anything they have to lose, how should they behave?
After watching what these fascists have done to the other industries they have started to consume, if I ran an insurance company, I think I might at least go down with my dignity intact.

Perhaps, but is she really much different from the majority of inhabitants of the district she represents?
What I find amazing is that the majority of House Democrats prefer having her as Speaker and not somebody more stable, not to mention effective.

This is the problem with our government. Until they are fearing for their lives, they won't straighten up. They'll laugh at tea parties, and protests. Start stringing them up and they'll begin to do whats best for the country.

Love your sign on your about page.
I know of a place in Western N.Carolina that is a pawn shop, bail bonds, liquor store and produce stand all rolled up in to one.
AND not sure about now but you use to be able to drive up to a window and order a to go drink.

It doesn’t amaze me at all. For 40 some-odd years Americans have been knuckling under to PC. The resultant culture is far more likely tp produce moral cowards than the culture it replaced. The general point of PC is not what ever individual item it is addressing in any given case, rather it is to create a sense of fear in the herd.
