The State Supreme Court has declined to hear a constitutional challenge to a law creating a domestic partner registry for gay couples.
The high court denied a petition for original action from Wisconsin Family Action, which claims the registry violates a state Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage or any similar status.
Lester Pines, the attorney representing the state in the case, says its not the end of the road for the challenge. He says the lawsuit will just have to start at the Circuit Court level instead.
In a statement, Wisconsin Family Action says it plans to take its challenge to the Circuit Court.
Pines says thats not a surprise, since these people are relentless in trying to deny gay people any protections.
Pines was named to represent the state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said he could not defend the registry, because he believes it does violate the marriage amendment.
If the case is brought to the Circuit Court, Pines says he wants to continue defending the registry.
The court did not indicate a reason for denying the petition.
where is that pic chode????
I think you misunderstood the article. The court refused to strike down the domestic partner registry.
Maybe I’m reading this wrong, but it looks like a pro-real-marriage group just got shot down trying to overturn domestic-partnership in Wisconsin.
What protection is being denied? This is the mentality of wackos. Denying protection might be saying the fire department, police or EMT's couldn't be sent the home of a gay couple. Last I checked, gays are afforded all the same protections under the constitution as all the rest of the "individuals" in America.
I support gays’ rights to own guns and keep the money they earn. Because liberals do no not, maybe we should start calling them homophobes?
I sure as hell don’t want the job of monitoring their bedrooms.

Oh, Geeze. Nevermind! I got the info backwards.
And yes, I guess those that wanted the registry gone, did get shot down.
*SIGH*
Target, Walmart and Babies R US wil be deeply saddened.
Cheers!
