The National Education Association, the organization most identified as the voice of established educators in the United States, is recommending that its members read -- and promote the reading of -- two books by Progressive radical Saul Alinsky: Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals. The recommendation appears in the organizations website under, "Tools & Ideas>Association Representative Resources>Articles & Multimedia>Recommended Reading: Saul Alinsky, The American Organizer."
The NEA has insisted over the course of its existence that it is a non-partisan organization that champions the education of America's children while advocating for the professional advancement of its educator membership. Their non-partisan claim has often been challenged due to the fact that they consistently advocate for Liberals, Democrats and Progressives while pooring campaign contributions -- derived from membership dues, some from those who do not aggree with the organization's political and ideological choices -- into their campaign coffers.
By citing the writings of social radical Saul Alinsky as "recommended reading" to representatives, members and interested parties alike, the NEA has effectively endorsed Alinsky's ideology and methodology.

We need to read the Alinsky books also. It’s like getting your hand on the opposing teams playbooks (hey, look how that almost got the New England Patriots a perfect season a couple years ago and won them a Super Bowl against the St. Louis Rams - since the Pats had the first 15 plays, that explains why the Pats “D” stuffed the Rams until the 4th qtr).
We should read the Alinsky books to know how the left operates and we most certainly should stop thinking ANYONE in the MSM is “coming around”.

and since the NEA members are not closed minded... and claim to be 'enlightened'... they would have no problem adding this to their list of research materials:

Yes, but she's informed and highly argumentative, as I'm sure they've discovered by now.

while pooring It's "pouring", as in "pour a glass of water". I'm not usually part of the grammar police but this error, to me, is egregious.

LOL! Actually, the one teacher that spars with her is not very good at arguing the liberal point so usually just gives up. Somehow they have remained on good terms through the last 2 years.
The teacher DOES commend her for being informed enought to argue, because the others in class don't know/care what is going on in the world.
I think she's one of those feel-good liberals who don't really know what the endgame is for the left, so we try not to judge her too harshly.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. Metmom holds both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail her to let her know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
