Rancid Media Update
Vanity | 11/4/09

Posted on 11/04/2009 5:46:26 AM PST by pabianice

I'm enjoying watching the rancid media die by another inch on this morning after great conservative election victories. Fox is concentrating on the election results. MSNBC is showing an extended puff piece on Obama's 2008 win. CNN is running a story about gas pedals that stick in Lexus cars...

I'm just saying... LOL!

I watched Rachel Maddow for a bit last night. The most important vote as far as she was concerned (wonder why..) was the Maine vote on gay marriage.

Woke up this AM to see the citizens had voted gay marriage out the door in that state.

Poor Rachel.

Gov Kaine was hammered this morning on CBS & NBC. He can’t seem to explain why VA turned deep red. He referred to a WaPo poll 10 days ago that claimed Obama popular at 57% and himself at 60%. But Harry Smith and Matt Lauer didn’t let it slide blaming him in a way because he is also DNC chair.

We all know that WaPo was fair in their poll and had not taken it upon themselves to promote Deeds as a pet.

It’s called whistling past the graveyard.

If the “mainstream” media ignore it, it hasn’t happened.

In their dreamworld, that is their reality.

The reality is a sound rejection of what the democrats are attempting to do by creating their nanny state and bankrupt citizenry.

If they don’t listen, I can imagine what is next.

Noticed that as well. All over the corrupt MSM — radio, TV, Internet — they are clearly avoiding or playing down the results. Often the results are buried as the third or fourth story in a “ho-hum” fashion.

I think this is great! Let’s keep flying under the wire and keep striking hard!

I fell asleep on the sofa last night, and when I awoke, some putz on CBS’ late night/early morning “news” program was saying how the governor races in Virginia and New Jersey had no effect. Uh...yeah...right.....

Regarding Corzine’s concession speech: Maybe I just read too much into it, but it sounded like some sour grapes to me. Oh, he did congratulate his opponent and make the useless empty promise to work for a smooth transition. But then Corzine started talking about all he had done as governor and what he hopes to continue to do in the future. Sounded to me like he was bitter...like, “look what all I did and you voters threw me under the bus.” It’s not what he said...just the way he said it. I found it kinda funny.

If it is still in existence by 2014, MSNBC will be running the 2008 Obama Victory Video on an endless loop, interrupted only by public service advertisements for the Keith Olbermann Defense Fund, sadly necessitated by his on-air rampage on Election Night 2012. Perhaps President Palin will take pity on him and commute his sentence. After all, it wasn’t exactly his fault that Chris Matthews got hit in the head by Keith’s trench coat belt as he whipped it in the air while ranting naked on the anchor desk.

I am writing my Dem Senator reminding her that she got elected by riding Obama’s coat tails, but that those days are over. If she hopes to get re-elected, she needs to start showing her independence from Obama/Reid and there is no better way to do that than voting against Obamacare.

Until obama is out of office AND IN PRISON for treason, they will not even blink at any of this. He'll eat his steak and fly Air Force One to Tahiti and say and do exactly as directed by the chicago thugs.

And a promo for an HBO ode to him. They seem completely oblivious to just how last year all that hope and change garbage is.

It was also hilarious watching the hot and sexy Rachel Maddow constantly referring to some exit poll indicating that only a minority of Virginia and NJ voters cast their vote as a statement on Colonel Obama. It must be such a drag being an apparatchik.

Mainstream Media Ignores Ethics Probes

Leaks about big shots who become subjects of ethics investigations are typically huge news.

But the Washington Post story, which disclosed names of key members of Congress who are involved in ethics probes, had the mainstream media basically turning a blind eye.

Maybe that’s because most of the congressional members who are currently huddled together under the ethics cloud happen to be Democrats.

Representatives John Murtha (D-PA), Peter Visclosky (D-IN), Norm Dicks (D-WA) Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and James Moran (D-VA) are being investigated for allegedly steering millions in earmarks to a lobbying firm, PMA.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the biggest recipients of contributions from PMA and its clients were Murtha, who since 1989 has been given more than $2.3 million, and Visclosky, who has taken in more than $1.3 million.

Two Republicans are also being checked into, Representatives C.W. “Bill” Young of Florida and Todd Tiahrt of Kansas.

On the day the story broke, all three network morning shows conveniently chose to ignore it.

Dem Reps Under Ethics Investigation

Busy as bumblebees, the House Ethics Committee has been investigating complaints against two Democrat congresswomen from the Los Angeles area, Maxine Waters and Laura Richardson.

The committee released a statement indicating that the investigation surrounding Waters would look into the congresswoman’s activities involving the National Bankers Assn. and OneUnited Bank, a company in which her husband owned stock and served on its board.

Massachusetts-based OneUnited Bank received $12 million in bailout money. The funding took place three months after Waters, a senior member of the congressional committee that oversees banking, helped to set up a meeting between minority-owned financial institutions and officials in the Treasury Department.

Sidney Williams, Waters’ husband, was a member of the bank’s board of directors until early 2008. He held investments in the bank valued at $350,000, according to Waters’ financial disclosure report.

The committee also plans to investigate whether Richardson failed to list certain items on her financial disclosure forms, and whether she received a “gift or preferential treatment” from Washington Mutual after her Sacramento house was sold at a foreclosure auction. Washington Mutual subsequently returned the two-story residence to the congresswoman.

Adding to the morass are the ethics questions swirling around New York Democrat Rep. Charles Rangel. Recent disclosures have raised serious questions about Rangel’s personal finances.

Another Democrat, Rep. Alan Mollohan of West Virginia, is being probed over real estate holdings.

Back in 2006 prior to the elections, Nancy Pelosi issued a press release about how she and 160 House Democrats had introduced their Honest Leadership and Open Government Act that Pelosi touted as “an aggressive reform package to reverse Republican excesses and protect the public trust.”

To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh, how’s that public trust thing workin’ out for you?

Bad News for CNN — and Its Anchors

CNN hit an all-time competitive low in October, with three of its four prime-time shows finishing last in the ratings among the four cable news networks.

The pioneer all-news cable network’s programs airing between 7 and 11 p.m. lagged behind not only those on Fox News and MSNBC, but also CNN’s sister network HLN, formerly Headline News.

CNN’s prime-time ratings are down 22 percent from 2007.

“In an era when the relationship between the White House and Fox News is making headlines, and when the ideological rivalry between MSNBC on the left and Fox News on the right is commanding the spotlight, CNN has little from a news angle to stir consistent interest from viewers,” The New York Times observed.

The only prime-time CNN show that did not finish last was “Larry King Live.” It finished third.

Adding insult to injury, two CNN anchors recently suffered “humiliating defeats” on “Celebrity Jeopardy,” NewsBusters reported.

In October, Soledad O’Brien finished third behind actor Michael McKean of “Laverne & Shirley” and NBA legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

On an earlier show, Wolf Blitzer finished third and last behind comic Andy Richter and “Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany.

That simply demonstrates that some parts of the news media are in as much denial as Obama is. He wouldn’t look at the election returns.

I was watching Fox last night when it was announced (breaking news) that Christie had won NJ. I flippped over to MSNBC just to watch Olberman's face as he annonced the news and he apparently couldn't bring himself to do it. The stickied alert was at the bottom of the screen but all he could talk about was the Republican's healthcare bill (with a sneer). I watched for a couple segments and I guess he was just trying to ignore the obvious. lol

I swear, he looks like he's sitting on the toilet when he's doing his show. This man needs an enema.
