The House health-care reform plan unveiled last week by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would do more than regulate insurance companies it would even regulate vending machines.
The bill, which is posted online, would require that vending machine operators either create new machines that allow the customer to view nutrition facts or post nutritional information for each product near each article of food or the selection button.
The regulation could wind up costing vendors millions of dollars to make the changes, according to industry estimates.
Section 2572 of the bill (H.R. 3962) says, In the case of an article of food sold from a vending machine that (I) does not permit a prospective purchaser to examine the Nutritional Facts Panel before purchasing the article or does not otherwise provide visible nutrition information at the point of purchase; and (II) is operated by a person who is engaged in the business of owning or operating 20 or more vending machines, the vending machine operator shall provide a sign in close proximity to each article of food or the selection button that includes a clear and conspicuous statement disclosing the number of calories contained in the article. (See page 1,515 of H.R. 3962 Section 2572 (H) (viii).

You mean the stuff in those machines isn’t ALL healthy!!!!!
If you’re buying something from a vending machine, it’s because you really, really want it. The info isn’t gonna make a bit of difference. It’s sold by the tons in stores is “proof”.
These people are crazy.
healthcare reform is really about getting more tax money, they will tax soda because sugar is bad for you
they will tax fat because it is bad for you
plus everyone will eventually have to see a doctor, when you do if you do not have health care they will fine you or tax the employer
they are really just trying to make it more difficult to pay someone under he table so they can confiscate that addtional tax revenue
Insane control-freak witch. Is she gonna put a warning label and tax on movie popcorn?
Hey, Nancy-girl...when are you going to start the public campaign to convince homosexuals to stop their dangerous lifestyle that results in uneven consumption of medical services, in the name of "the good of the people"?
Yeah, they really, really want it so badly that the munchmachines on route 95 South in Delaware (others) have rebar frames welded onto them. Can hardly get coins into the slot, never mind getting anything out!
What a totally stupid idea.
Such a stupid woman. It’s the pasta, not the sausages. Throughout the debate on labeling the Leftwingtards, led by Nancy, keep coming back to the idea that CALORIES, not grams of carbohydrates, are the relevant factor in food risk.
“healthcare” my %ss...this is a Tax Bill
What? Covering the munchmachines in rebar? NOT
Even then they were beat up. They're even heavily lagged down so as not to be dragged away.
[I felt safer in the old Combat Zone in Boston!]
Pelosi needs to wear a warning label on her outfit each day warning taxpayers about her insane ideas.
sw
This idiot has no idea what it means to own and operate a business. No idea about profit. No idea about costs. No idea about anything except steal money from those who have worked hard for it all their lives and give it to those slackers who vote democrat.
They should just stick a big sign on the top saying “EVERYTHING IN HERE IS JUNK FOOD THAT WILL KILL YOU. ENJOY!!!!”
No: I was speaking of the law to place the announcements on them.
Sorry for the mistake.
I can certainly understand the rebar on the machines., but then i have been rooked by these machines and wanted to destroy them myself LOL.
Probably as much mine due to the long night... elections, love 'em! (well, sometimes)
Wish I had taken a couple of pictures of the machines at those rest stops. Alternatively, one in NC was made into a mini museum of Mayberry RFD. Quite nice (but typical tourist prices!)
