Three people trying to stop two burglars in a South Shore apartment building are now fighting for their lives, among them a Cook County Medical Examiner's investigator.
The shooting happened around 12:05 a.m. in the first floor hallway of an apartment building at 6916 S. Oglesby Ave., according to police, who said the two suspects were inside the building knocking on doors when residents got suspicious.
A source indicated the two suspects allegedly were trying to burglarize the building.
Two residents of the building, 35 and 56, were assisting an employee for the medical examiner's office detain a man who was armed, according to a Grand Crossing District police captain. They were "holding onto him" until police could arrive, officers said.
They recovered the gun, but suddenly, an accomplice of the man detained came from upstairs and opened fire, striking the three.

King was shot in the abdomen and the 56-year-old man who lives on the second floor of the building suffered a gunshot to the left hip, according to the captain. The third victim, a 35-year-old man who lives on the first floor of the building at 6916 was shot in the back, the mouth and face and the left shoulder.
King remained in critical condition as of 4:45 a.m., and the other two were in serious but "stable" condition, according to detectives

Keeping guns out the hands of law-abiding citizens is a criminal act!
More like an Immoral criminal act!
Imagine what can be done if the Internet community helps this tragedy grow legs!
Keep this debacle alive and in the public discussion arena. It is the perfect tool to beat the anti-gun crowd with.
Remember that the long term commie plan included not only gun grabbing, it also included this nasty plot as well.
Laws barring the use of guns to defend property have the effect of:
1. Protecting crinimals.
2. Once criminals knew “Da Law” protected them from the guns of the rightful owner of the property, crime mushroomed.
3. When crime mushroomed, commies in Da Gooberment could justify vast increased in cops, courts, prisons, etc.
The real goal was creation of a police and prison system worthy of a commie government.
