Same Sex Marriage Going Down....
way too easy to pass up.....
I wouldn’t have guessed a 10 point spread on this issue in Washington.
Surprising margin given Maine is looking so close.
The homosexuals will probably lawyer up and get the vote declared unconstitutional or some such BS.
# With 58% of precincts reporting, 51.29% has voted to reject same-sex marriage in Maine. The outcome remains uncertain.3 minutes ago from BNO Headquarters
Some headlines write themselves....
Can you please post the text of the question as it was presented to the state’s voters? Thanks.
Is this within the jurisdiction of the Ninth Circus Court of Schlemiels? (could not resist the Mike Savage reference)
WA is a weird state. I think the eastern part is pretty conservative.
FILTHY DISEASE RIDDEN QUEERS LOSE ANOTHER STATE!!!!
Play on words.
Won’t have to.
You can bet they got boxes and boxes of ballots stashed away and hidden somewhere in King County...
Dead people, dogs, felons, you name it.
Boxes!!! Just waiting!!
Any wonder I completely abandoned voting years ago?
Referendum Measure No. 71 concerning rights and responsibilities of state-registered domestic partners (Referendum 71)
The legislature passed Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill 5688 concerning rights and responsibilities of state-registered domestic partners and voters have filed a sufficient referendum petition on this bill.
This bill would expand the rights, responsibilities, and obligations accorded state-registered same-sex and senior domestic partners to be equivalent to those of married spouses, except that a domestic partnership is not a marriage. Should this bill be:
Approved ___
Rejected ___
Way too early in the count to call it yet. Stay tuned...
Going down? It can go back to hell where it came from!!!!
This is truly good news I can get behind.
No pun intended.
Link is Spokane, results are sw.
“approved” is back in the lead. It’ll close up as more eastern WA counties report in.
Actually, those are just precinct results. Click on the “State Results” and you’ll see that this referendum has passed.
Thank you Lord.
HA! King County will find the votes. They’ll pack the ballot box just as they did for Gregoire. They’ll find boxes of votes laying around. It doesn’t matter what the state wants....
I don’t know what part of the state you’re looking at, but you’re wrong:
You know the State Capitol is in Olympia right, try linking to the Secretary of State
It has shifted.
Bet R. Madcow isn’t mentioning WA’s victory. She’s going bananas over the Maine vote.

This Spokanite voted the right way.
We also had a dreadful ballot initiative called Proposition 4 here in the city. It was a city version of hopey changey and it went down 75-25 if the numbers are final.
“WA is a weird state. I think the eastern part is pretty conservative.”

Your emphasis is wrong. While it’s a big state (area wise), the only liberal area is King County, the main city being Seattle. They always stack the vote however needed to make the vote work for them. Bunch of crooked, wacked out Dims!
We got 4 counties to go, most conservative leaning, could be close
DANG.
Approved
444,336
51.90%
Rejected
411,882
48.10%
Ugh. Does not matter what we do on the Eastern side of the state. King County always carries the day.
Pierce and Yakima, yet to report
34,000 votes is the difference till Yakima and Pierce report
Where did you get the headline? Referendum 71 was approved with a 51% vote margin.
And its not gay marriage, its same rights as a married couple, which is why they called it the everything but marriage bill.
Its sad to see Susan Hutchison loos out to another tax and spend liberal for King County Executive. But then again, King County is facing major problems, and bigger ones yet to come if the Green River floods the Kent Valley. I would hate to see all that dumped on her lap. I would rather see her run for congress, or run against Patty Murray.
With the following two it has been again proven that if you put enough money into telling lies on TV you can get the outcome you want.
Initiative 1033 - limit tax increases to inflation plus population growth
Yes - 78,111 34.28%
No - 149,739 65.72%
Referendum 71 - “Everything but marriage for same sex couples”
Accept - 164,724 65.91%
Reject - 85,188 34.09%
We can fully expect that the legislature in it’s session next year will pass a bill authorizing same-sex marriages.
While it might not be gay marriage yet, Sen. Ed Murray, the openly gay Democrat who authored SB 5688 states this is but an incremental step to overturning DOMA and giving gays fully recognized and legal same sex marriage in the state.
Approving this measure basically approves same sex marriage, just a little bit later on.
Seattle voters are idiots. 1033 just stated that we have to live within our means and not spend money we DON’T FREAKIN’ HAVE!
America speaks...
Say WA? Evergreen State ping I feel like such a loser after election days in Washington State. Being a Vikings fan since a kid one would think I would get used to waking up after the big day and not taking it so hard, but....
Once again, King ....er QUEEN County takes the cake...
