Expect GOP to Pickup 1 to 4 seats in Virginia House of Delegates.
Pre-election balance of seats GOP 53 DEM 45=43+2 DEM vacancies IND 2
So far GOP has picked up former democratic seats in............ 3rd district................ 83rd District
and is losing a former GOP seat.................. in the 93rd district
GOP has the following leads in 3 districts........................... District/% for GOP/% for DEM / % Precincts counted................................. 21st/ 50.1%/ 49.9%/ 87%counted ................ 32nd/57.4%/42.5%/57%counted .............................. 67th/53.2%/46.7%/53%counted.............................
I had them leading or winning 7, losing just 1.
Woo Hoo! Good News! This is an excellent start. Mark my words, the Dims will start to change their strategy and ‘words’.
BTTT!
Good for McDonnell. It looks like he had coat tails!
It would be instructive to know how many of those new GOP members are considered conservative, eh?
What seats do you have GOP Winning besides
3,21,32,67,83 and losing 93?
Hopefully I missed one or two—which seats?
House GOP caucus tells me that we’re at +4 right now and expected to go to +6.
We lost a couple of seats.
Phil Hamilton (had ethics issues) in Tidewater. And the open seat that ousted party chair Jeff Frederick vacated.
Saw George Allen on Fox grinning ear to ear! You guys did an AWESOME job and Joe Trippi on Fox News looks about to cry with Corzine now losing as well.
Shep over at FOX doesn’t look to happy either. He’s trying to smile but his eyes tell a different story. I hope he can suck it up and divorce himself from his politics, because at this pace, he’ll never be able to emotionally handle the d-RAT shellacking that’s coming up in 2010.
It’s getting better.
McDonnell just went over 50% in Fairfax County with 206 of 235 precincts reporting.
Last I checked, I had us ahead in the 23rd & 51st as well. The link page I was using went dead.
Barbara Comstock is holding on to a 200 vote lead with 90% of the vote in.
Looks like this one could go either way and most likely to recount.
I kinda figgered Hamilton was doomed.
But overall we have noting to cry about :)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I hate to lose the seat, but it’s probably better that we don’t have to through a House ethics investigation.
I have had a big grin on my face watching Shep and Trippi. Rove looks like the cat that swallowed the canary.
Did you hear the good news about the NY race? Seems the Dems areas are in and Hoffman areas are quite aways from where the votes are counted. They don’t seem concerned at all.
Comstock leading by 300 with one precinct to go.
Looks like Comstock has a 300 vote lead with just absentees out.
LeMunyon sent Caputo packing, 800 vote lead with just absentees out.
No, I didn’t hear the good news about Hoffman. I felt that when everything was said and done, that he would emerge victorious.
Off topic, but, this evening I attended a fundraiser for former Florida Speaker of the Florida House, Marco Rubio. He’s going to upset a sitting Florida Governor, prime time Charlie Crist next year in the GOP Senatorial contest. Rubio is a terrific Conservative, a great speaker, with a compelling story (his parents came here after the communists imposed a dictatorship in Cuba). He is the future of Conservativism in Florida and destined for greater things on a national stage.
Press release from Speaker’s office said we’re at +5 with Comstock too close to call.
What accounted for the loss of Frederick’s seat ? It appeared we had 2 Hispanic Republican candidates, in that seat and in the 21st (Villanueva, which I can’t tell if we won).
Ultimately Frederick accounted for that loss. He tried to recruit Torian to run as a Republican. Torian turned around and ran as a Democrat.
Villanueva apparently won by 16 votes and is on the way to a recount.
What area is NY51? Weird, the link page went dead.
Prince William County (centered on Woodbridge).
Are the GOP delegate gains conservative-friendly?
I don’t know all of them, but I think they’re mostly pretty solid.
Gage is a good man.
But he ran in a district that would allow Morrisey to serve in the GA between jail terms.
He is. I talked to him at the 7th District Roundup.
