Brady Campaign's Dennis Henigan seems to have problems understanding this document. The Brady Campaign's Dennis Henigan is apparently as unimpressed with the 10th Amendment as he is with the 2nd. This can be seen by his reaction to passage in Tennessee and Montana (and consideration elsewhere) of bills that would exempt firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories made and sold within the state, from federal gun laws.
That reaction is one of fussy disapproval.
We know that individuals can defy the law. Can a state legislature defy the law? When it comes to the gun issue, apparently it can.I refer to the extraordinary legislation passed into law by the states of Montana and Tennessee declaring that guns or ammunition manufactured and retained entirely within the borders of those states are "not subject to federal law." Apparently, similar legislation has been introduced in Texas, Alaska, Minnesota, South Carolina, Florida, Arizona and Colorado. [Ed. note: you forgot Ohio, Dennis!]

IOW, agreeing with you but differing on vocabulary.
Besides, since when have liberals ever showed so much deference to past SCOTUS decisions? They don't seem to think there's anything sacrosanct about the ones they DON'T like.
“I refer to the extraordinary legislation passed into law by the states of Montana and Tennessee. . . “
Uhm, those of us who believe in the 10th Amendment don’t think it’s extraordinary.

Actually, we do, but it's Good Extraordinary. "Ordinary" is all the other gutless states letting the feral juggernaut roll over them as long as it sprinkles a few dollars of THEIR OWN MONEY along the path of destruction.
Bamahead: Should have thought of pinging you, but I see you're already here.
ForGod'sSake: Love the "feral" government thing. I've adopted it myself!
If the shoe fits eh... ;^)
Adding the "10thamendment" and "statesrights" tags to this one for those interested in following this ongoing discussion.
“We know that individuals can defy the law. Can a state legislature defy the law? When it comes to the gun issue, apparently it can.”
Can Congress defy the law?
Can the Executive Branch defy the law?
When it comes to the gun issue and the Constitution, apparently they can.
