President Barack Obama's political clout was on the line Tuesday as Virginia and New Jersey chose governors in contests that could serve as warning signs for Democrats about the public's mood heading into an important midterm election year.

I find this line in the story interesting: "As if on cue, Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid indicated Tuesday that lawmakers may not complete health care legislation this year, missing Obama's deadline on his signature issue and pushing debate into a congressional election year." Last minute desperation move?

Harry pushed hard last week but obviously couldn’t get the votes. If today goes as I think, the Rats will desert Reid/Pelosi in droves.

That's my take (posted yesterday) on that, too.

I'm hoping the results from today will scare the bejeezus out of some of the Bluedogs, who are not gonna risk losing next year just because she's threatening them in all kinds of ways.....

If NY, VA, and NJ are all lost by the Dems...there will lots of backpedaling on the Hill.

I can’t imagine the NJ race going to GOP, but if it does, we all know “elections have consequences.” /sarc

I don't think much of a human being (Bluedog) if they cave in to this little confused stupid bug eyed piece of garbage. If I was threatened in any way I would not surrender and I would tell that witch and Reid off. Then I would go public and explain what they tried to do.

If that was the type of person they were, they probably wouldn't be where they are as a Democrat now!

” If I was threatened in any way I would not surrender and I would tell that witch and Reid off.”

That’s because you’re smart and are morally well grounded. Nobody would ever think that of democrats.
