Imagine this. At a time of political turmoil, a charismatic, telegenic new leader arrives virtually out of nowhere. He offers a message of hope and reconciliation based on compromise and promises to marshal technology for a better future that will include universal health care.

A handful of dissidents hold out against the rapturous reception given the Vs. Some are simply uneasy, such as the youthful priest Father Jack (Joel Gretsch, The 4400), who sharply criticizes the Vaticans embrace of the Vs as divine creations: Rattlesnakes are Gods creatures too.He does a lot of SF, and is William Shatner's son-in-law ... sort of like it's the family business or something ...

I love it! Let’s watch as Obambi and his minions whine and complain about a fictional tv series. Getting a little paranoid, aren’t we, Dear Leader?

Great, just great. Now Axelrod will show up on "Meet the Press" with a book titled: "To Serve Man".

Yes but this series is about a female dictator, as the original one was.

John Carpenter’s They Live is a more appropriate analogy.
Barack Obama’s personal propagandist, Shepard Fairey, lifted the propaganda items “OBEY” and “This is your god” from John Carpenter’s film.
There is no truth in the Pravda Media. Open your eyes.
PS, there is a planned remake of They Live.

I don’t get why the resurrection of the old “V” show? It’s a completely different show, it seems, so why not name it something else?
The only other question is, which of us would the Vs eat first?
Oh, and my wife is planning to watch it (?) because there are actors from “Lost.” I don’t get that one either.

Oddly enough, I have noticed an increase in movies with a resistance theme, and even caught a Movie Industry information flick late one night discussing how the 20% tax on theater gross proceeds was killing the industry in the late 40s and early 50s.
That on one cable network I did not necessarily expect to be planting seeds of defiance, you know, the guy whose ex was a prominent war protestor...
The general theme is interesting, and perhaps some of the media elite have realized they have created a monster and don't quite know what to do about it.

Wasn’t there a show called “V” back in the 80s? I didn’t watch it but it sounds familiar.

NOOOOOOOO!! You can't plan perfection!! That movie was the AWESOME!!! The greatest fight evah!! Roddy Piper vs. David something! It must have lasted 20 minutes. I'm hopeful about V, but I suspect I'm being set up. If they make to many sly references about President Unicorn, it will surely get cancelled as thin skinned as he is.

Whenever Hollyweird tries to attract conservatives you can pretty much guarantee the product is pointless.
ABC must have focus grouped and found they have a turkey.
Calling this an attack on Obama is just their way of making a good trailer for a bad movie.

Wasn’t there also a Twilight Zone episode where these aliens came with the same theme and had a book titled “How To Serve Man” which turned out to be a cookbook?

I don’t remember - dad brought home a bunch of old TV stuff and the Twilight Zone was some of them. Thought they were pretty good for the time - but I thought it was a guy who figured it out ...

Wasnt there a show called V back in the 80s? I didnt watch it but it sounds familiar. I cannot hear that show mentioned without hearing Cyndi Lauper's 'Time after Time' in my head; both were big at around the same time.
