Is There Late Movement to Republican Christie in NJ? Or is the World Series Affecting Who Pollsters Reach? On Election Eve in New Jersey, with a New York City team and a Philadelphia team in the World Series, Republican Chris Christie may have slight late momentum in his bid to unseat incumbent Democrat Jon Corzine, according to a SurveyUSA tracking poll conducted for WABC-TV. The candidates remain today within the theoretical margin of sampling error, as they have been in each of SurveyUSA's 5 tracking NJ polls. At the wire, Christie 45%, Corzine 42%. Interviews were conducted Friday 10/30/09 through Sunday 11/01/09. On 2 of the 3 nights, much of NJ was home watching local teams play in the World Series. And: 1 of the 3 nights was Halloween, when families with children are home in uniquely large numbers. As such, results of this survey should be interpreted cautiously: a narrow Corzine victory is not inconsistent with the data, but a narrow Christie win is more consistent with the data. Christie's advantage among NJ independents grew from 12 points 4 weeks ago to 30 points today. SurveyUSA's interactive tracking graph shows both Corzine and Independent Chris Daggett losing Independent votes to Christie. Those who have already voted favor Corzine. Corzine has votes banked. For Christie to be elected, he needs the voters who talk the Christie talk to walk the Christie walk on Election Day. The smaller the Election Day turnout, the more important Corzine's banked votes are. The larger the Election Day turnout, the more likely the Republicans are to take Trenton. On the other hand: President Obama campaigned for Corzine on Sunday. Most interviews for this survey were completed before TV accounts of the Obama visit were shown, and 100% of interviews were completed before Monday's newspapers were published with photos of Obama and Corzine.
Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 New Jersey adults 10/30/09 through 11/01/09. Of them, 819 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 582 were determined by SurveyUSA to have already voted or to be likely to vote on or before 11/03/09.
Hat trick!
Please let it be so. We need to put the fear of God into the so called Blue Dog dimoKKKRATS.
I pray the New Jersey voters turn out in droves tomorrow-and bring their cameras and cellphones to document the voter fraud.
I hope that’s enough to counteract the leftist voting-fraud tomorrow.
This will just be a taste of what the blue dogs can expect in 2010. Listen up fools, follow obama, pelosi, and reed and you will be ousted without term limits.....
margin of fraud is about 4% so Corzine is likely to win this.
He needs at least 6 points win (in real votes) in order to overcome ACORN.
The news is promising, though it still could go either way.
The poll tomorrow will be the one to count on.
I’d feel better if it were almost any other state. I just don’t trust the sanctity of the vote in New Jersey. It is up there with Illinois in terms of corruption. I really hope that Christie, the NJ GOP, and the RNC are lawyered up for this race, big time. They should have poll watchers at every precinct and every polling place.
New Jersey is a corrupt liberal state with all election officers dominated by lefties and ACORN nuts running rampant. If Christie wins tomorrow it will be something of a small miracle.
0bama has already been to New Jersey to campaign for Corzine quite a few times, and plenty of them funny 0bama/Corzine pics have been put on the front pages of the newspapers, and it never made much of a difference before. Why should it now?
Plus 0bama’s poll numbers have been falling fast in NJ same as everywhere else in this country. Plus Corzine has one if the highest disapproval ratings of any governor in this country.
Anyways, we will see soon enough. Just 24 hours go to.
Back in the day when Christine Whitman ran she showed a very slight uptick in the polls the weekend before election day, going ahead by a couple of points - she won by about one percent - signs are looking good for Christie.....
Do you have a source for that?
Looking at the numbers, I would have to say that Christie is more likely to win.
A vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine. Daggett votes should just stay home unless they want Corzine for another 4 years!
Does that poll include all the votes ACORN obtained from hospitals?
It’s usually the rat that gains in the final days in NJ.
Weekend polls, such as this one is, generally skew toward the ‘Rats because they are more likely to be home over the weekend. That’s good news for Christie, though still too close for comfort due to the fraud factor.
Gallup, USA Today, ABC, NBC and CNN’s polling surveys shamelessly use only adults, not likely voters, IIRC. This skews the vote in favor of the Democrat.
SurveyUSA is a USA Today poll.
Christie may well be doing even better than this poll suggests.
It’s gonna be a VERY longgggg day.
New Jersey voters of all political stripes, get out and vote to elect Christie as the NJ Governor. Your vote is ten times more important then you might know. If Christie wins in NJ, you guys and gals get a great Governor, NJ will return to business and economic health, but the most important accomplishment of a Christie win is the relegating of Barack Obama and his socialist buddies to a lame duck status. If you love America, if you love your children, if you love freedom, individual opportunity, freedom of speech, you have no choice but to vote for Mr. Christie!!!!!
Do you really need one?? The ghetto areas of Newark, Jersey City and Camden are ripe for ACORN/SEIU type fraud. One report over the weekend had Rat workers going into a hospital with reams of absentee ballots and coming out with all of them signed. Signature comparison of many of those ballots with registration signatures show they are invalid. However the Rats are arguing they should not be discarded but held as provisional ballots. The absentee votes are the most productive these days for generating non-existent real votes.

I am hoping for a TRIFECTA!
Hoffman, Christie, and McDonnell .... what this means is this: The American people dont want the Democrats to bankrupt this country.
I wasnt referring to the notion that fraud is happening; of course it is. I was referring to your claim that ACORN could easily close a 6 percentage point gap between the candidates. Those "reams" you describe would hardly be enough to close a 6 percentage point gap.
I think the only way to close a gap that large would be by tampering with the voting machine.
Sorry, I misunderstood your comment. And no, it wasn’t me that posted the 6 percentage points comment.
PPP showed same thing last night, but it will have to be huge to overcome the fraud in NJ.
If Obama can get a Republican elected in New Jersey, maybe he is the Messiah. It’ll be the biggest thing since ole Moses parted the Red Sea.
Keep the ACORN-SEIU thugs out of the voting booths or Christie may be kidnapped. I would not trust any poll in North Jersey where Dems would steal and sell their grannies for power.
