The Pakistani military has launched a large offensive involving 30,000 soldiers into South Waziristan, one of the tribal agencies most hospitable to the Taliban and like-minded terrorists. Following frightening Taliban attacks on the Army headquarters and an air base suspected of storing nuclear weapons, the Pakistani government began a belated but aggressive campaign. In order for the Pakistanis to succeed however, the U.S. must demonstrate a similar determination to rout the Taliban in Afghanistan by launching a comprehensive counter-insurgency campaign.

It would have been helpful if Pakistan had been good international citizens with their nuclear research, instead of helping Rogue Nations to develop weapons.
ahh, have y ou had family fighting in the north western region of Afghanistan - up against Pakistan?
I'm thinking not?
Now is exactly the time for more troops, air cover and equipment in those high mountain borders - where the pakis now make it too tough to stay on their side and we catch em in the middle on the 'ghan side.

Exact;y what's been needed for years - to stop the hit and run across the border- hit and run back across the border strategy that has worked for years for the miscreants.
If obama had an ounce of conviction about winning this war, those extra troops - actually 'additional', not 'extra' as they have ALWAYS been undermanned - would already be there and we could win this thing and put the war to rest.
But from all indicators, he is more concerned with protecting the miscreants. His new ROE and attempts to consult with the taliban leaders for negotiating are just the latest proof of that.
Nope - just what I read in the funny papers
What I do remember is accounts of the
Paks complaining about hot pursuit practices
following Taliban into Pak territories.
Hammer, meet anvil.
So who do you think might get better information? You, from the newspapers or someone, like me, who corresponded for 15 months with a soldier (family) in that border region - and other military, and military family and supporters who keep constant contact/support groups, including mine, with them?
And my grandson is on his way back there -
You get your info from the media - I get mine from the horses mouth
If you're really interested, you could peruse some of the military sites on line - ...
