Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive in St. Johns today for an 11-day visit that will bring them to Hamilton Thursday.
Its the 15th time Charles has toured Canada, but the first time with his wife Camilla by his side.
One of the first things the couple must deal with is H1N1 flu...
Charles is also up against an apparent apathy that could see him received with at least as much indifference as enthusiasm. A leaked poll, phone-in shows and online comments have suggested growing ho-hum feelings ...
Just when you thought things couldnt get much worse around here, wrote Willie Hunt of Pouch Cove, N.L., on a website announcing the princes 15th visit to Canada.
St. Johns historian and author Paul ONeill...This is a man who was an environmentalist long before it was the in-thing to be green...
Quebec, where the Queen herself has been jeered at by protesters, is the one place where the Charles and Camilla caravan might hit a rough patch.
The Montreal branch of the sovereigntist Societe St-Jean Baptiste wrote an open letter to Charles, saying hell only be welcome in the province if he apologizes for a historical laundry list of alleged British offences.
It includes ... deportations of Acadians in 1755...
The radical sovereigntist group the Reseau de Resistance du Quebecois went further, warning Charles to stay out of the province or face protesters.
We promise to scorch the ears ...if he dares to put his feet in Quebec.

Hes in his 60s now and hes still no closer to the throne
Goofy Charles spreading his CO2 and carbon footprint with the old bag.
Riches welfare cases in the world. All our welfare cases get is only a lousy Obama cell phone and 70 minutes a month...
Some people want to keep our Monarchy. They should pay for it.
I think his mum is no dummy. Some one mentions the Battle of Lepanto last night The Proestants at the time were not much help but Queen Elizabeth back then (1571 AD) realized that was far far worse than the Vatican. I think the article was about the Knights of Malta.
Charlies mum met with Pope Benedict. I think she realizes Blair and Labour have just about sold the UK out to Islam. She may realize how bad things are. The last thing she will do is turned it over to Charlie. Some people think Charlie is a closet Muslim.
Skip William and make Harry King. He fought in Afghanistan, has the fire in the belly and will throw great parties.
Not hoof and mouth?
To show his eco-credentials he should have traveled from England to Canada by way of sail and solar powered boat. And the boat should have been made of recycled paper.
Charles is a fool!
Charles is causing global warming with his hot air.
I found this fact fascinating. Then... the Catholic church reaches out to Anglicans. Incredible set of events happening here. The German Monarchy is at a very serious point in its history. Charles will likely doom the institution...
After the ceremony and reception, the lovely couple retire to their suite at Buckingham, which is just next door to the Queen's and Prince Phillip.
Camilla, as she prepares for bed, asks Charles to hep her remove the shoes from her badly swolen feet.
Next door, Phillip hears"Charles! Not so hard, Do be ever so gentle but firm!! Charles! That hurts!!!".
Phillip turns to the queen and says: "I knew it! With a face like that, I knew she was a virgin!!"
A bit later, Charles starts to pull off the second shoe.
Again, Phillip is listening through the wall. This time, Phillip hears "Ouch Charles. Don't do the other one as hard as the first. No! Not so hard with the other one!!"
Phillip turns to Elizabeth and says, "That's my boy! Give the other one a go. Once a Navy man, always a Navy man!"
Message from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales
My wife and I are delighted to be visiting Canada this November. I can hardly believe that this is my fifteenth visit and I am greatly looking forward to introducing my wife to a country and a people which are very dear to my heart. For her part, my wife could not be more pleased to investigate the origins of one branch of her own family.
We hope our visit will be a real celebration of the vibrant diversity which defines modern Canada, from her ancient traditions to the world-class brilliance of her contemporary culture. We are particularly looking forward to meeting as many Canadians as possible as we travel from coast to coast, covering twelve cities in almost as many days. I could not be more proud of the Canadian organizations of which I have the great pleasure to be Royal Patron and which have been working with great success for many years to help young people into work; to protect our environment and our heritage; and to promote ever closer co-operation between the public, private and N.G.O. sectors.
My wife and I will be spending a great deal of time with the Military and, in particular, with the Regiments of which I have had the privilege to be Colonel in Chief for many years. We would like to pay tribute to their outstanding service not just to Canada, but to the entire international community. When I present new Colours I shall be thinking not only of the proud histories of my Regiments, but of the courage and sacrifice of the present generation and, crucially, of all the loved ones who provide such devoted support to them. It is, I think, fitting that our visit encompasses all three elements of Her Majestys Canadian Forces and ends on Remembrance Day, when my wife and I will share with all Canadians two minutes of silent reflection and reverence.

maybe they will present him with that giant portrait of his Mum that used to hang in the rafters of Winnipeg Arena?

Leading Candidate for “Upper-Class Twit-Of-The-Year”.
It might be good for Prince Charles to avoid Quebec this year. The 250th anniversary of the battle of the Plains of Abraham was a couple of months ago (Sept. 12). That led to the French loss of Canada to the British.
There is nothing barf worthy in the quoted statement.
If they were paying for the trip themselves it might not be, but since I’m paying for it, I say again...*barf*
