The single biggest threat to Charlie Crist's political future probably isn't his U.S. Senate primary rival, Marco Rubio.
It's former Gov. Jeb Bush, who could give Rubio an enormous boost if he chose to.
A new Miami Herald/St. Petersburg Times/Bay News 9 poll underscores how much Bush's shadow still looms over Florida almost three years after him leaving office: Forty-six percent said they would rather have Bush leading Florida today, while 41 percent said Crist.
More striking, 71 percent of Republicans would pick Bush as governor today, while only 22 percent of Republicans said they would pick Crist over Bush. ``Is there a path to victory for Marco Rubio? Yes, but it involves the support of Jeb Bush,'' pollster Tom Eldon said. ``Crist may have appointed the last senator, but Bush has it in his hands to appoint the next one.''

GO RUBIO!!!!!!
Jeb is widely liked in FL, even among many who didn’t like GWB. This would be incredibly huge in the primary and the general election.
My guess is that Jeb will endorse Rubio if he is within reach of Crist in the closing days of the campaign.
Jeb would have made a better president than his brother.
That said, Rubio for Senate and Palin for the White House.

If they are smart; Rubio will win.
Unfortunately, that's a very big "if." It would be great if Jeb endorses Rubio. I hope he doesn't let the crazy Republican "leadership" talk him out of it.
I thought Jeb already had endorsed Rubio sometime over the weekend, no? In any case, if he has or did, Rubio will be moved about 20 squares ahead of Crist, because Jeb was a good governor and still popular here.
I supported Jeb Bush in a big way, and would be VERY disappointed if he does not endorse Marco Rubio!
If Jeb endorses Crist, I will know that he has joined the RINO group of suposed conservatives! It will also mean that Jeb would never get my vote if he runs for any political office again!
Crist and Jeb “broke up” 2003 or 2004. They’re like oil and water.
The man's head is in the clouds. He has no idea what Floridians go through on a day to day basis. Charlie has been molly coddled by his mommy and daddy his whole life and still is. Charlie Crist, no, no, no.
what date is primary..can’t find date...thanks.
You may be right, but Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist have been at odds for some time.
I just called Sen. Lemieux’s office on the phone and asked them to send me in the US mail his position on the health care bills.
THEY REFUSED - They refused to take my mailing address knowing that I was a voter in their state and told me I HAD TO USE the internet. I informed them that this senior did not have a computer. They told me to go to the library. I had to then say I don’t know how to use a computer and that many of my senior friends are being left out of the loop by this senator’s office policy.
Then I asked for a phone call back; THEY REFUSED to return this constituents phone call.
This senator is nothing more than a lousy temp.
I can only hope that Jeb is different than the other Bush’s.
Jeb Bush, Jr. has already endorsed Marco Rubio!!!

Jeb Bush, Jr. seems to be the quiet son.
