CBO: ObamaCare will Cover Only 2% of US Citizens
CFP ^ | 11/2/09 | Sher Zieve

You may have missed it, as the Obama State-run media sycophants have worked feverishly to suppress it. One of a handful of media outlets that did publish anything on it (AP) devoted only one paragraph to this extremely important piece of news. Said paragraph reads:

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Congressional Budget Office estimate suggests very few Americans under the age of 65 would sign up for health insurance under the much-debated public option. The CBO found that the scaled back government plan in the House version of health care legislation couldn’t overtake private insurance, with only about 2 percent of Americans under the age of 65 opting in.

This is important because it completely contradicts what Obama and the White House have been saying for months…and months. Obama has alternately quoted figures of 47 and 46 millions and, then, 30 millions who are health care uninsured in the US. Suffice it to say, none of his figures come even remotely close to the truth—and now the Congressional Budget Office (headed and staffed by Obamaites) has confirmed what many of us have known all along. Note: As of July 2008, the US population was listed as 304,059,724. 2% of that figure is just over 6 millions—not 47 or even 30! The CBO also stated that ObamaCare will be far more expensive to the consumer than is private health insurance—thus exposing yet another ObamaLie.

Not that it matters. The entire point of the marxists is to get a foothold established.

“Not that it matters.” This is the first step toward destroying all the private insurance companies, which the bill makes horribly clear. When there are no other alternatives, we will all have socialized medicine.

Even if it is only 0.00001%, their mission will be accomplished and it will be 100% within five years.

Exactly. The healthcare bill is not about healthcare.

Your friendly commies don’t care about you.

Rush was on Fox News Sunday with Chriss Wallace yesterday.

Rush called it perfectly:

NObamacare is an attempt by the Congress and NObama to STEAL 17% of the GDP from the private businesses that currently provide health insurance.

What no one is talking about is this:
Most of these companies provide other types of insurance- Liability—Vehicle—Life—Special Assets (art, jewelry, etc), Workmen’s Comp—Homeowners—all kinds of insurance.

This attack on the “health care” portion of our lives is just the start of destroying a large segment of our economy.

Businesses cannot run without liability insurance. Banks won’t loan on a mortgage unless you carry current homeowners insurance. Schools cannot run the school bus without insurance. Sports equipment companies cannot produce product without liability insurance.

A complete stop of business will occur without insurance companies.

Think about it.

This is only the tip of the iceberg with NObama and his intent on destroying America.

The only way it could be that low is if it is way overpriced (instead of being subsidized by tax dollars as likely) or the individual mandate penalties are so low that it makes sense to only buy it when you actually need it, such as calling from the ambulance after a car wreck. Otherwise with the elimination of individual insurance, you'll have to figure that everyone out of work (both the officially unemployed and those who have given up) will sign up. That's a lot more than 2%. And that doesn't even count those business who would rather dump their employees on the Government Plan and pay any penalties as cheaper than continuing to supply ever more expensive, regulated and limited private insurance.

Whoever says 2% is lying.

It will be more than “socialized medicine”.

Without other types of insurance, America grinds to a halt.

Your Auto insurance should cover your car wreck.

So they are going to gut Medicare for $500B to cover 2% of America with obamacare?

The ultimate goal is to create a third giant slush fund,(the first two being Social Security and Medicare) from which Congress can ‘borrow’ excess funds from.

And behind all that is a plan that will restrict the accumulation of capital, and, therefore, the creation of wealth. This will eventually destroy our capitalist economy. Look what they’ve done so far with the banks, the car companies etc. When he said he was going to fundamentally change our country, this is what he was talking about. Third World, here we come.

Whoever says “healthcare” is the bigger liar!

Health insurance has never provided a speck of health.

Speaking of marginal cases...a few years ago a friend of mine was getting her company insurer to cover infertility treatments. She never did have any success, but what she got, she figured cost her insurer over $100k.
I’m wondering if 0bamacare covers infertility. Nothing would surprise me.

No part of H.R.3200 should be passed as written....shred the whole package and start over with honest reform....Tort Reform; Insurance Reform....go from there if need be. Leave the medicine to the doctors not to the Bureaucrats! Let your elected know you disapprove of this being shoved down our collective throats regardless of how unnecessary 99% of this atrocious bill is. It is nothing but a power grab by President Obama to govern how you live your lives. Not one Federal Employee will ever have to use Obama Care from President to Janitor.

Only a political hack would agree to this for his/her constituents and only a tyrant would want this for the citizens of the Nation. Please tell you elected NO to all of H.R.3200 or any part of the new/old bill.

The whole debacle is a moot point anyway...unless something happens to get the economy going, and provide jobs, they won't be able to afford this "healthcare" travesty anyway.

The Government's only source of income...is YOU. That's it. If you don't, or can't, work, you pay no taxes, and taxes are what will pay for obamacare.

In a few years, the "rich" will be totally drained of funds to finance obama's folly, and the entire financial system will lay in ruins so Pedro can get his sore throat treated at the local doctor's office.

Well, for all of obama's supposed love for equality - Mmmm, Mummm, Mumm - he is an artful dodger when it comes to picking favorites...and his favorites are those he perceives to be his supporters.

But, he thought his recent dem endorsements would get more dems elected too...that remains to be seen.

The taxes however will cover about 80% of Americans and the loss of freedom will cover 100% of Americans and whatever illegals are here at that time.

It seems to me that there is a math advantage to reporting a low public option potential participation number - a higher number would produce a higher level of government cost - perhaps they are cooking the books to get this monster bill passed?

As an aside, this entire process has been illuminating in that now the CBO seems in the tank with the ruling party and probably has no real idea what the impact will be, just the same as the biased M and B group.

We seem screwed.
