Hoffman spokesman concerned of ACORN funny business in NY-23 race
Washington Times ^ | 11/01/2009 | Kerry Picket

In a conference call with reporters and bloggers, Doug Hoffman campaign spokesman Rob Ryan addressed his concern about the possibility of ACORN interfering in New York's 23rd district.

Mr. Ryan referred to a case in Troy, New York where the Working Families Party was recently caught in a voter fraud case. Mr. Ryan said

"A special prosecutor was named at the end of September, because Working Families Party was infvolved in the forgery of absentee ballots, and they caught them red-handed. This is something we are afraid of here in the district. We are afraid of the unions coming in, of ACORN coming in, of Move-on types coming in, and we want to see a clean legal election. We know if that's the case, we win. Our Chief counsel is going to court tomorrow morning in Essex county. The ballots that are being counted...the voting machines could not have them added, so there are paper ballots out there, and we do not want paper ballots being counted at the polling places. We want them counted with the absentee ballots at the board of elections."

It loks like Doug is in the drivers seat, so I feel his campaign needs to chill with the finger pointing and scare talk. He can do more harm to himself during the next few hours than anyone else. Take a defensive position and put out the fires quietly.

There has to be a way to prevent the Acorn fraud.

Of COURSE they will be pulling their illegal vote tricks.

TURNOUT, TURNOUT, TURNOUT is the only way to defeat these tricks.

Also have poll watchers at EVERY PRECINCT....with video cameras and cell phones.

Am sure volunteers are needed!

I'm sure the New York Times is busy as we speak, writing the story of the historic election where the district that hasn't voted for Democrat since the Civil War voted 70%-30% for the Democrat this time, all because of how the 93% white rural mountain communities of upstate New York did it for Obama.

I don’t agree, devane617. The Acorn roaches scurry in the daylight. If he calls attention to their schemes now he diminishes the possibility that they will be able to get away with them in the 23rd.

Rolling up to the 1992 elections, I have vague memories of allegations where it was stated that Perot accused Bush Sr of interfering with his daughter’s wedding, and the air of paranoia began to surround Perot’s campaign.

To your point concerning Hoffman’s ACORN alarm, you’re right.

I agree 100%. Call the bastards out before they get a toehold.

It’d be nice if some volunteers of the conservative persuasion would volunteer to police those precincts Tuesday. It’s be real nice if the pub party would help out and send some seasoned spotters as a mea culpa for visiting Skanakfava on us in the first place. I doubt they will. They’re too busy nursing their wounds and crying indignantly in their beer because they got bitch-slapped.

ACORN got their money again as of today.

So I wouldn’t be surprised that they will try to swing the voters — especially in New Jersey.

Dead voters
Dog voters
Mickey Mouse voters

I think the ACORN’ers are a little behind on this one. They expected the seat to go to DEMOCRAT (Owens or Scozzafava), so they probably haven’t geared up for it.

In NEW JERSEY, THOUGH, it’s a completely different story, with Corzine already preparing legal defense of the ACORN frauds!!

Vote Fraud is what gets these clowns into office

That's it and it's been going on too long. This race is so critical for many reasons. The will of the people does not come out in the voter booth. We hear 'vote them out' and in comes voter fraud.

I disagree. Do you think the Conservative Party has the resources to fight the fraud? The GOP hasn’t, that I know of, formally said that Hoffman is the Republican and probably couldn’t if they tried—they have an “R” on the ballot already.

He needs to yell this out and get as much attention as is possible, especially with the Democrats already filing a lawsuit against the election to force precincts to accept federal voting requirements over state and local requirements to vote.

The libs have thrown down the gauntlet already. This IS defense.

Before the sun sets on Tues, they’ll be claiming some melanin-rich individual was turned away from the polls. That will be the lead, every hour, until they can say “upset.” If they can’t, they’ll go to court to upset it that way.

A drivers license doesn’t prove legal citizenship.

My wife was illegal in Chicago when she was registered to vote while at the DMV getting her drivers license. I still have her 2004 Illinois voter registration card.

Seems that way with Chicago.

My wife did not even know it was not legal for her to vote.

On a side note, this lifelong Cubs fan now finds it hard to watch a Cubs game after the Sammy Sosa era. Cheating (steroids) pervades even the Chicago sports teams.

You know, that is so sad. I find it very difficult to ever think of Chicago without the word ‘criminal’ attached to it, even when my better angels tell me that a lot of very fine people live there.
Sadly, that image pervades over a lot,(too many,) of our big cities. L A, Detroit, Philly, etc. Almost anywhere the dems have control of the machine.
Columbus, Ohio used to be one of the most livable cities in the country. Now...
Same with Pittsburgh.
I think we need to literally destroy the dem machine and all of its moving parts.

That makes no tactical or strategic sense. When your enemy is on the run, crush them. Drive their women and children before you, and relish in their lamentations.

Conversatives need to start a non-profit to help the the country, a group who will feed, cloth, shelter and provide medical care for the poor, indigent, downtrodden in our country. Accept Federal, State, Local and private donations for funding. Set up offices where each and every person who places a foot on the soil of this great country can find the opportunity our Founding Fathers denied them.

SQUASH - coming to a neighborhood near you.

This is a problem faced by many missionary families overseas, too.

We sent our requests for absentee ballots through our nearest U.S. Consulate. The consulate did its job. The requests DID arrive at our Indiana county court house.

My wife was in the States for a couple of months, and she went to the courthouse to check. The courthouse official responsible for this knows us. She said that she did mail them to us. We believe her, of course. But they never reached us.

At this point we figure the problem to have been either (1) that the postal systems abroad are not as reliable as the USPS; or (2) because we are in a communist country, the official looking envelope was pulled off line for inspection and then discarded.

There must be a more secure way to handle this, but we haven’t found that way yet.

We wonder if the U.S. embassies and consulates couldn’t set up direct polling for Americans abroad, and wire the results back to the respective states. This does seem like a very big task for them, however.

I don’t know the answer.

This is exactly what is *the MOST* wrong with our voting system. Of all the votes that musy be counted, those protecting our freedom and right to vote are being denied theirs. If we don’t make this unacceptable problem our #1 national priority in fixin the election system, then we will FAIL.
