Talk radio bomb thrower Rush Limbaugh ripped President Obama Sunday for his ego, health care reform effort - and a "photo-op" with the casket of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan.
"It was a photo-op precisely because he's having big-time trouble on this whole Afghanistan dithering situation," Limbaugh told "Fox News Sunday."
"He can create the impression that he has all this great concern," Limbaugh charged.
Obama said his overnight trip to view the returning flag-draped caskets of 18 Americans killed in Afghanistan at Dover Air Force Base Thursday will "bear on how I see" the war. He is expected to unveil a new strategy that could send up to 40,000 more troops into the warzone.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), who has clashed with Obama on domestic and homeland security issues, rushed to defend the President's action.
"I think he was there as commander-in-chief for all Americans. And I don't fault him or question his motives at all," Lieberman said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "I was proud that my President was there."
In his multi-pronged attack, Limbaugh also said the health care reform effort is a government power grab driven by a "very narcissistic" President who has "an out-of-this-world ego."

Photo-op for sure. He can’t put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem but he can go to Dover AFB in the middle of the night to capitalize on another’s sorrow. Photo-op.
Basing his decisions on emotions not needs of the soldiers fighting overseas - so typically liberal reaction....disgusting opportunist.
I am not an Obama lover...but I think he has a heart...i do think he was sincere. He does not have the same values as we do, but he does seem to recognize the honor a valor of a soldier. These soldiers deserve nothing less, and I for one am glad he showed respect!
Of course it was a photo op. If it was out of personal concern he could have gone without the press.
Notice the salute...he was taught that...that does mean he cared enough to learn a proper salute and rendered it in this case. You should have seen how he started...awful lame salute...this is a good salute...a soldiers salute..someone taught him well!

If he had a heart or recognized the valor of a soldier he would not be conducting foreign policy in such a way as to get more US soldiers killed.
That's the kicker. Anyone who misses that point....he did this in the middle of the night and took the press.....isn't seeing it for what it really was.

This was a photo op, pure and simple. He simply cannot stay out of the way of a camera or teleprompter. When will he actually sit down and make decisions regarding the war over there?
The answer? When it's politically beneficial to him.

I can tell you why - I have family members and many friends in the military - including Afghanistan.
Our TROOPS have first hand and tragic knowledge of his total disdain and disrespect for their lives and for their mission.
He isn't worthy of the title CIC. His new ROE and dithering, has month after month, caused higher KIA’s each succeeding month than the first year of the war.
He has the blood of our soldiers on his hands - maybe you are not familiar with the new ROE he put in play this year? Maybe you think our troops can continue fighting without the heavy losses when they are undermanned and underarmed. "Respect" is more than a photo op salute that only required a a few minutes travel. You think he has a heart. You think he was sincere, You think he recognizes the honor and valor of a soldier.

Nah...just a sloppy salute. His fingers aren’t together. Magnifying the image clearly shows the line of the cheek hasn’t be altered. The end of the thumb is somewhere under his right ear.

I’ll go so far as to say that I think the more body bags come back from the Middle East, the better “The One” likes it. And that it correlates with his dithering on Afghanistan.
I think his plan is to dither and hedge and hem-haw and screw around, meanwhile letting the body bags pile up, until the MainSlime Media takes their cue from him and starts the same kind of screaming anti-war stuff they did toward the end of the Viet Nam surrender and pullout. I actually think his visit to Dover was part of that plan; intended to DRAW ATTENTION to the returning coffins.
Once the media-induced hue and cry to end the war gets great enough, Obama can throw in the towel in the Middle East, and surrender and pull out; and he can say he is only doing the bidding of a majority of Americans, whether it’s actually true or not. Since when was this man ever concerned about being truthful?!
