The Conservative Party, beginning its 47th year, continues to be the champion of the taxpayers of New York State and now more than ever the proposals in this legislative program are needed to restore New York’s fiscal well being. The Conservative Party urges the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government to adopt the following proposals in order to restore New York's fiscal credibility, properly educate our children, keep our citizens safe and maintain the values that made New York the Empire State. The Conservative Party made substantial contributions in bringing New York State back from a credit rating equal to junk bond status; and if the following proposals are adopted runaway spending will be curtailed. Our legislators cannot rely on tax hikes, surcharges or fees; nor can they rely on promises of Federal Government handouts to balance an inflated budget. If New York continues on the path of the past, we will be faced with increasing budget deficits and even more businesses will close. New businesses will never be started, residents will move and fiscal Armageddon will ensue. The Legislature must cut across the board, and every agency and program must make significant spending cuts. You miss the point. This is not about the CPNYS. This is about the potential for building a network of state-level Conservative Parties that can re-take America from the Socialists and their traitorous fellow travelers — the RINOs.

Sure, the CPNYS is not perfect. But its 2009 platform represents a template that can and should be replicated in all 50 states.
