AUGUSTA, Maine — A high school guidance counselor who appeared in a television ad opposing gay marriage is reportedly the target of an effort to rescind his state license, according to campaign officials.

Don Mendell of Nokomis Regional High School in Newport was featured in an ad by Stand for Marriage Maine in support of Question 1, which seeks to overturn a new state law allowing same-sex couples to wed.

Now, a guidance counselor from another school has filed a complaint with state regulators requesting that Mendell’s license to practice social work in Maine be revoked because of his statements on gay marriage, according to Scott Fish, spokesman for Stand for Marriage Maine.

Bets, anyone, that Rush, Beck, Hannity, OReilly, and the entire stable of Fox News beauties will ignore this story?

Also,...Any conservative who still has their kids in government schools is fooling themselves. No, your kid's government school is **NOT** different.

One of the comments at the link was from someone who said the school district guaranteed them there would be "no change" in the curriculum. I share your skepticism on that promise being kept.

That has to be the biggest lie told by anyone seeking to implement any type of policy change. If that's true, then why have a vote on the issue at all?

Maine is a private cesspool. They do weird, retarded s%%T up there and nobody knows about it. Olympia Snowe gets them an occassional notice with her RINO BS. It’s best to let them have at it and suffer. I’m sure that the counselor who opposes gay marriage has voted for progressive idiots all his life.

The prime reason why I stopped listening/watching conservative talk show hosts was because they stopped talking about the perverted homosexuals and what they are doing to our schools and country.

The absolute final straw for me was Obama's natural born status. OReilly and Coulter, especially, make me want to hurl. I haven't watched Fox News for more than 5 minutes total since Ann Coulter called me a "crank".

Back when Hannity was first starting out in Athens, Alabama he would justifiably hammer hard a Democratic Congressman that we had at the time. As a matter of fact Hannity got into trouble with the station over his hammering of this guy.

A few years ago I happened called in to Shawn's radio show and spoke to him off the air. I asked him why he never brought up this Congressman's name anymore cause the skunk hadn't changed his stripes. Shawn's reply to me was “Aw he's a good guy!”

That and when he continued to advertise Disney and its products were when I lost all respect for Shawn and I haven't listened to him since then.

His career was made in the CONSERVATIVE Tennessee Valley of Alabama and he has lost his integrity and ethics.

As far as I'm concerned, he, Rush and other so called conservative hosts are nothing more than shills for the MSM. They've done well and God bless them for that but they've sold out. They've lost their conservative backbone. They are nothing but entertainment now.

“As far as I’m concerned, he, Rush and other so called conservative hosts are nothing more than shills for the MSM”.

...they ARE in it for a reason, money and fame, but I don’t see why you’d throw Rush under the bus. He’s been a true, consistent voice of conservative reason for years. Rush actually educates. He’s also the reason for other talk show hosts existence like Beck, Levin, Hannity etc. Without them, there wouldn’t have been a “Tea Party”. There would be little to no dissent.

The other day, a caller to Rush asked whether he could talk about Larry Sinclair. Rush said “no, that isn’t what you told the screener you wanted to talk about.” He then shut off the caller with no explanation. That completely floored me.

Anybody else think Rush is deliberately quiet on the topic of Larry Sinclair?

If he is, I am p*ssed.

I’ll give Rush another chance when he starts - and doesn’t stop - hammering hard about what the homosexuals are doing to our children and this country and that Zero isn’t a natural born citizen.

Rush won’t do it - I guarantee you!!

From your link:

It would appear that the education system is fine with one of their own appearing on TV in opposition to Question 1, but the system will come down on you – and hard – if you support Question 1 and favor traditional marriage

It is, however, good that more people realize that the education system is their enemy.

They are ALL quiet about Sinclair.
The only place I have heard about him is on here, YouTube and a few other parts of the internet.

I haven’t heard a peep on TV (but I’ll admit...I don’t watch that much, either).

Here is the answer to it all:

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/crushing_the_media_7BDcPTVkbpbpG3Hc3xaCHM

Note especially:

The American media elected Obama. No presidential candidate’s past ever went so deliberately underexposed. So the attack on Fox may simply have been payback to the networks that are hemorrhaging viewers, the equivalent for the media of a night in the Lincoln bedroom.

This begs asking on this thread. Could social workers and state agencies that deal with children, foster homes, and adoptions; discriminate against those who own guns or have CCW licenses?

All adults that ‘apply’ must undergo an extensive background check. Do the agencies learn about lawful firearm activity through these checks. And could these state workers be self motivated or feel justified to reject those who carry and own?

Try listening to (some) conservative Christian radio ... that's about the only place you'll hear anything about the tidal wave of homo-perversion in society. Point of View is a start.

They're all libertarians...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Libertarians are dead set against forcing the beliefs of one group onto others. This is exactly what **all** government schools do. It is what the homosexual bullies would like to do in every area of social interaction.

So...If Rush, Beck, Hannity, and OReilly are avoiding the homosexual indoctrination being forced on children in our government schools, then these guys are very poor examples of libertarianism.

No,....Rush, Beck, Hannity, OReilly, (etc.) are avoiding these issues for three reasons:

1) They are too “weeenieified” to offend the powerful homosexual bully lobby.

2) The gonads of Rush, Beck, Hannity, OReilly ( etc.) are too shriveled to offend their many listeners who are completely addicted to the government school socialism.

3)Rush, Beck, Hannity, OReilly, (etc.) are too stupid and uniformed to understand that both the homosexual bullies, and government schools ( with or without homosexual indoctrination), are two ( among several) of freedom's greatest threats.

Having said this, I still think they mostly do good work, and deserve our support. They are useful to the conservative movement.

However...We should never mistake these guys as being patriots. They are self-interested entertainers! If they were they were patriots they would be persistently covering Obama’s eligibility. They would have **years ago** started calling Democrats what they truly are: Marxists and fascists. And....They would be seriously covering the homosexual bully issues, and giving serious and thoughtful explanations for why all government schooling should be abolished.

When tyranny rises, these guys will be on their knees spit shining the jack boots that are crushing our necks. Real patriotic resistance will arise elsewhere

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Government K-12 schools are easily among the top ten most serious threats against freedom! They have been since they first opened in the mid 1800s to the early 1900s.

Government schools are socialism in action! They teach students every day to be comfortable with having the government take money from their neighbor to pay for a service their parents want for FREE! If the government can take money from their neighbor for schooling, then why not retirement, medicines, hospitalization, food, clothing, college tuition,...and hundreds of other needs?

We have the IRS, Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, Johnson's Great Society, and hundreds of other socialistic programs precisely because Americans were made comfortable with accepting other people's money, and become acclimatized to socialism, simply by attending government schools!

That the public schools are a form of systematic theft is one part of the menace that they are. What makes them especially vile is that they educate for deviance.

Simply by attending children acclimatized and acculturated to accepting the idea that government can take money from their neighbor to pay for a service their parents want for free. In essence government schools are a **daily**, minute by minute, object lesson in being comfortable with socialism.

The above is true for **all** government schools, everywhere in the U.S., and has been so since the first government schools opened in the mid-1800 to early 1900s. After one to 4 or 5 generations of this we now have citizens completely comfortable with the IRS, the New Deal and Great Societies, and ( within the last year) the take over of banking and the auto industry and other bailouts.

the more they’ll escalate.

Folks, we’re living the “Turner Diaries”,
where acts of violence against “normal people” will be excused,

and complaints about it will be criminalized.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

A major factor in the growth of government schools in the mid 1800w and early 1900s was virulent anti-Catholcism.

Ah! But those school reformers failed to realize that any government school powerful enough to force citizens to pay taxes for indoctrinating children in a generic form of Protestantism was, indeed, powerful enough to indoctrinate our nation's children in atheism, godless Marxism, and **homosexuality** and other deviant lifestyles.

I hope those prejudiced anti-Catholic Protestants are rolling over in their graves, and I hope that God does not grant them rest.

Powerful enough, and has an incentive to do so. Strong morality makes people free, and sin enslaves. It is therefore in the interest of the opressor to indoctrinate the population in sin. After a few generations we have a nation where children out of wedlock, children growing up in reconstituted families or single parent households, children who are taught to follow their every hormonal whim, -- are now becoming voting citizens. Increasingly, our nation fills with people uncapable of taking care of themselves, who clamor for more government to become their surrogate parent, now that they don't have a functioning set of real parents.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This was the plan from the beginning.

The goal of the leading socialist reformers who pushed for government schooling in the mid 1800s and early 1900s was to create a nation of compliant citizens who were dependent on the fascist state. That others foolishly followed these socialist reformers was due to anti-Catholic nativism.
