Sacrificing free speech won't appease fanatics

The founding principles of this nation are being challenged in the halls of the United Nations, where representatives of Islamic nations are clamoring for a resolution against defamation of religion. It is an ideological battle pitting free speech against those who wish to shield religions from criticism.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said as much.

"The protection of speech about religion is particularly important since persons of different faith will inevitably hold divergent views on religious questions," Clinton said, quoted by The Associated Press. "These differences should be met with tolerance, not with the suppression of discourse."

But she also said the United States is opposed to negative depictions of specific faiths. Which is it?

Law professor and FindLaw.com columnist Marci Hamilton this past week called out the Obama administration for its willingness to compromise.

Michael Posner -- the assistant U.S. secretary of state for human rights, democracy and labor -- worked with Egypt to draft compromise language for the U.N. resolution that condemns religion-oriented harassment and discrimination, making a fragile distinction from defamation

What pisses ME off is .... THEY are never satisfied and seemongly want my utter destruction/servitude or my death.

WE on the other hand have this subliminal message constantly bleated toward us .. "Don't think about killing them, don't think about killing them .. "

It's no wonder we are so ineffectual.

We are currently living in stage three.

Stage 1:
Start immigrating - move into a country quietly

Stage 2:
Begin starting mosques: “learning centers” community helps: food etc.

Stage 3:
Political activism: demanding rights, denounce derogatory comments/press etc.

Stage 4:
Get elected, pass laws favoring rights etc. move toward political majority

Stage 5:
Political control, Sharia Law

I’d like to see some religious tolerance in Saudi Arabia.

Instead they kill anyone who converts to Christianity. We’ve been at war with Islam since their pig loving founder was told he wasn’t a true prophet.

Sacrificing free speech won't appease Islamic fanatics. They won't be happy until they're allowed to sacrifice dhimmi infidels.

Tolerance is Newspeak for toleration for views that support Socialism and/or radical liberalism. All other views are not to be tolerated. People that demand tolerance are usually the most intolerant people on the face of the planet. As usual, the libs misunderstand tolerance. We tolerate people, but we do not tolerate bad ideas or acts. What the libs want is for us to accept bad ideas and evil religious views, such as Islam. I can tolerate a Muslim, but I do not tolerate Islam.
