Palin says 'not now' to Iowa invite
Saving herself for a book tour, perhaps?
I asked Sarah Palin to visit me to and she turned me down. I did not issue a press release though.
“Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, was met by large, enthusiastic crowds during her four appearances in Iowa last year on behalf of presidential nominee John McCain.”
Um, I think you’ve got that hierarchy reversed, Mr. Beaumont. Before Palin, the only crowd McCain could draw consisted of MSM journalists fawning over an easily beatable GOP nominee.
The invite was one of several hundred, and was made to her less than 2 weeks ago.
The inviters gave the impression she was coming; but Palin had never given that impression to them.
It conflicts with her schedule and contract with the publisher. She’s got to do the book tour.
She has announced to come to Iowa later and free of charge.
It’s getting old and tiresome.......all these places inviting Sarah and then when she is unable to attend they act all put out.
In the meantime they sell more tickets than usual on the word that Sarah will be attending.
“I asked Sarah Palin to visit me to and she turned me down.”
Poor sucker.
You can come and meet her at my house in 2 weeks.
We are grilling pork chops that day; you can bring a dessert item.
Instead she’s going to show up at another time for free. What’s the story?
Do you perfer Apple pie, butter peacan pie, or zucchini bread?
Its at least a year too early for anything huge I guess.
Just EVIL! LOL!
A double chocolate cake with a butter cream cheese frosting would be fine.
Judging from pre-orders she won’t need a tour to sell books.
She has political plans and has her own timetable.
The Register getting a jump on the primaries...get them against Palin for her run...
Remember this?
Register editorial board endorses Obama for President
This sounds pretty good...
CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE WITH
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
1 pkg. devil’s food cake mix
4 oz. instant chocolate pudding
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. oil
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. water
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
8 oz. softened cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 box XXX sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Chopped pecans, optional
Mix together. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes in greased Bundt pan. Cool and top with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add sugar and mix. Add vanilla and beat. Spread on cake. Sprinkle top with pecans.
The other thing with this is that a speech in Iowa is pretty much a clear signal you’re running for President. Especially with the book and being this early I don’t know if she’d want to do that at this point.
Obama didn’t make his first visit to Iowa until Sept 2006, NH until Dec 2006.
And, as the article mentioned she’s already been there a few times so people have seen her.
But, if she were to go, it would be swamped by national media and it would be heralded as the 1st step in a campaign. She doesn’t want that and the organizers of the event probably don’t want that.
Any other state would be different, but IA and NH and SC are special cases.
Sigh. I just FELT 5 pounds add to my hips just reading this dessert! Ya’ll gotta stop it- only 83 days til my sons wedding!
She was smart to put out a Press Release quickly, then. Too many folks got the impression, during the past year, that she couldn't seem to make up her mind about attending events, or that she had cancelled, seemingly at the last minute, even though she'd NEVER committed to any of those appearances.
You're doing better than I; I only have 56 days!!
Which, in turn; gives the communist media something to bitch about...
I think the inviters bear some/most of the blame. They basically said she was coming to gin up interest in their event.
And it’s not the DSM Registers fault either in this case.
My guess as to what Palin is currently doing is studying like mad. History, economics, politics, geography, scripture. She comes across as somebody who may not naturally be the best at whatever she decides to do, but through grit, determination and hard work, she generally seems to accomplish her goals. With women like her, Liz Cheny and Michelle Bachman, my faith in the Republican party has a glimmer of hope. Now if we could just get a male leader with half the ba##s of any of those three, we could turn the party around.
Sarah will be on her book tour this time out.......she said she would arrange a date later on. I hope that most of the studying is done and she is polishing now. She will get some tough questions on the book tour....you can count on it.
Good for her!
Good! Gentlemen beg...but never tell.....{:-)
