Newt’s a day late and a dollar short.

He made some stupidly embarrassing comments about this race, and comes off as a hypocritical fool looking for relevance.

Newt should go away now.

Ronald Reagan was a democrat before he changed his mind.

Speaker Gingrich has done the right thing.

Give him credit, where credit is due.

Everyone needs to be on the same side, if we’re gonna get America back.

Welcome home, Speaker Gingrich! :)

I like Newt, I always have. I can't understand his logic or lack of with his choice, only to say that it was part politics. This is a GOP wake up call, we are tired out here, we are pissed beyond belief, we do not have a voice and the voice we seek is a conservative one and not politics as usual. Heed the warning take back the party and do the right thing or suffer the consequences cone 2010. WE ARE NOT PARTY ORIENTED AT THIS POINT!

Actually, Dede DIDN’T drop out. She “suspended her campaign.” And she told her followers that she was “releasing” them to vote for whoever they liked.

So, technically, she is still in the race. She didn’t even have the grace to drop out, let alone endorse Hoffman.

Speaker Gingrich has done the right thing.

He did not do the right thing. He buckled under when there were no more choices.

Give him credit, where credit is due.

He certainly is flexible without a spine, isn't he? Is that enough credit, or shall I heap more?

Everyone needs to be on the same side, if we’re gonna get America back.

That is the precise rational Newt used to criticize those who supported the conservative candidate. I was wrong then and it is wrong now.

I don't want to be on the same side. I want to be on the right side.

Newt openly criticized those who supported the conservative candidate just a few days ago. He was dead wrong when he said that supporting Scozzafava was the way to go, and he was dead wrong when he said that conservatives were wrong for supporting Hoffman.

The right thing was obvious then, but he was highly critical of those who dared do the right thing.

Only when backed into a corner with no possible other choice did he reluctantly even begin to do the correct thing. Unless he sincerely apologizes publicly to those he criticized publicly, he still will not have done the right thing. The clock is ticking....

Leaders lead. They don't cower and follow after the danger has passed. Newt Gingrich has proved himself no leader.

But did he do it for the right reason? His last minute switch seems more opportunistic than principled.

If he ever denounces man-made global warming (preferably before the global warming crowd finally realizes that man hasn't much to do with the weather), he might start to look more like the leader he was.

It will be easy to tell if he learned his lesson or is just riding the tide.

Newt must realize AND act accordingly to the following:

He is no longer a kingmaker. If Hoffman wins, Palin is the new kingmaker.

If he gets on her coattails and supports the conservative candidate regardless of party, and has ONE voice with the conservatives from now on, then welcome home. If not, he gets hung out to dry, with the rest of the politically motivated rinos with the bullseyes on their backs for 2010.

Either fall in with the rest of us, or go awol. We welcome ALL conservatives, we BANISH ALL RINOS!

The media's conventional wisdom, and the GOP leadership seems to think, that the GOP has to moderate in order to get back on the horse. Trying to be moderates is was bucked them from the pony in the first place! The GOP gave up its grip on the reins when it lost sight of its core conservative values. The war is not what did in GW and the pubbies, it was the runaway spending and, more recently, the bailouts.

If Newt’s on board with the right team, I’ll join with Newt. And I’ve been (plenty) critical of Gingrich.

There are two, and only two, ways to win elections:

Think about this. Really, it’s important.

The first way, which the GOP has been trying for the last 15 years - is for the GOP to abandon what it stands for, to try to appease the left. That is why we have RINOS.

The second way to win elections, it to convince others to change, and come over to your way of thinking.

This second way only works, if you do not chase people away, once they change and come around.

We’re trying to win people over.

Not chase them away!... So yeah, if Newt wants to wake up and get with the program - go Newt!!

I’ll be with him 100%. :)

Newt’s best days are well behind him.

He needs to get off the stage.

His smug rejection of conservative principles, as he tried to defend his endorsement of Scozzafava, was enough for me. Goodbye, Newt and please take that big-hair, bottle blonde wife of yours with you.
