Hillary’s White House Dreams?
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 10/31/2009 9:53:19 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Hillary Clinton has flatly said she’ll never run for president again. She’s even mused about retirement. But can a woman who fought so hard and came so close to bagging the big enchilada last time around suddenly flip off the ambition switch?

Ask yourself: particularly in light of her trip to Pakistan, who’s sounding more like a Commander-in-Chief these days: Hillary Clinton or that hope-’n-change fella back in DC?

This morning’s Today show ran part of Andrea Mitchell’s interview of Hillary in Pakistan. You can question the wisdom of Clinton having scolded the Pakistanis for providing al Qaeda a “safe haven in Pakistan since 2002,” adding “I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn’t get them if they really wanted to.” But you sure can’t question her moxie in making those statements while on Pakistani soil.

Hillary is Brutus to Obama’s Caesar.

I wouldn’t put some political backstabbing out of the question if it involves Hillary.

She is going to go down as the most useless SOS ever. She is just a fancy-named messenger for what passes for “foreign policy” in this administration: Bash our friends, coddle our enemies, support totalitarianism.

She'll be too old in 2016 and will have to carry the baggage of an old Administration. Tough thing to do when you're trying to run for President.

It's because she is a fool; even if you hated Bush, he knew how to be CIC of the military -- Democrats hate the military and haven't a clue on how to lead them.

Hillary will resign at the beginning of 2010 (Kerry will replace her), and she’ll graciously thank Obama for giving her the opportunity of running Foggy Bottom. Then she’ll write a book that’s critical of the Obama Administration’s approach to many vitally important areas of foreign affairs. Then she’ll go on a major speaking tour/book promotion where she will crank up the criticism of The One and his “troubling” presidency. She’ll claim all along that she has no interest in running for president, but behind the scenes Howard Wolfson and other Clinton loyalists will be putting together a team to take on Bambi. There will supposedly be groups popping up “everywhere” begging her to run. In the end she’ll pull a Ted Kennedy and announce she’s challenging Bambi for the Dem nod. Then get ready for the biggest political rumble this country has ever seen. I can’t wait to watch it.

Did anyone else note the caller on Rush’s show yesterday who got past the screener by saying he wanted to talk about Hillary in 2012. He came on and almost immediately mentioned Phil Berg. Rush then cut him off abruptly saying he hsd lied to the screener. Has Phil been lying in the weeds for Hill?

What goes with “Phil’s” cases?

Both should be jail instead of running for the higest office in the land.

No I don't think they are pleased at all. She's over there dishin' dirt and what must certainly be perceived by the paks as disrespect; meanwhile, baraq is at home blowing little hope-a-dope bubbles like he expects the clock to run out and the problem to go away.

She looks like the fly in the ointment, the monkey in the wrench. And she's making a monkey out of 0bama. I don't think he likes being made a monkey of.

This could get interesting.

I believe that she was judged and evaluated by the powers that be and found wanting. That is why we now have obama.

I agree with you, but it won’t be a benign parting of ways...with a book deal.

No. Hillary, I think is waiting til ‘something’ happens, and she will resign (amid much press). I think she will take the ‘I can’t be a party to what is being done to our Country, I tried to do as much as I could as SOS but they fought me...”. She will be centrist and patriotic.

Remember, she had the nomination stolen from her; from the early caucuses to the shifting of delegates; to the SuperDuper delegates.

She was stabbed in the back by Team Obama; Pelosi; Reid; all the Kennedys.

What is it they say, that the enemy of my enemy is my friend?

HRC, gloves off, going after the (now) weakened Obama will be awesome to watch :)

“I wouldn’t put some political backstabbing out of the question if it involves Hillary.”

Are you kidding me, political backstabbing will probably be her next bookdeal, which she can immeadiately dump into her warchest.

Tuesday will be a nice projector of Hopeychange’s future, or lack thereof. In which case, if it goes poorly with Dems losing in VA and NJ, will Hillary dump the SoS post before the 2010’s?

I’d bet whatever I have left in my 401k on it!

She has a larger staff than most in her position, but there are a lot of necessary players on the Exedc’s payroll. They will easily dump him like rats from a sinking ship.

Hillary will do to Obama what the national media refuse to do, and at which point the guy will be even more neutered than he already is.

Personally, I look forward to it!! But that may simply be my latent racist tendancies coming to the surface.

Hillary’s sole identity is the adulation that feeds her galactic ego, and everything, without exception, is subordinated to that need. Her words, her marriage and her two-dimensional ideals will always yield to her ambition and unbridled lust for power.

She will resign just before she begins her 2012 campaign.

She respected the will of the people, and served in the position available to her. Now that they’ve seen the error of their ways, they have called upon her to stop the VRWC. She wanted to retire, she really meant it when she said she had no desire to run, but she’s been called upon and she can’t ignore the will of the people. Blah, blah, blah.

HUH? There is not a single Democrat in the entire administration that sounds like a Commander-in-Chief!

All I see are the usual tax and spend crowd, run and hide bunch, and emboldened by their congressional majority to establish uncivil, elitist behavior, take away guns from the hard-working voters, taking away their free speech, taking away their future and their children's future as they take our country to the third world.
