Detroit may be trying to repair it's public image by calling Devil's Night Angel's night but the fact is Detroit is infamous for the arson spree taking place on Halloween night. Firefighters will face another night of it on Saturday and though the fires now don't burn like they did in the 80's and 90's the danger is still there.
Right now, as this post is typed, Detroit firefighters are operating on a heavily invloved structure on Casper Street. It's nothing new to Detroit. Fire activity has been high for 35 years as Detroit has gone from a city to a war zone. Through it all the bravest in Detroit have stood fast, protecting the city from itself.
Arson strikes Detroit hard every October because there are no shortages of buildings to burn. The derelict structures are everywhere and preventing the fires is almost impossible. Thus, every year, firefighters face the same challenges with fewer firefighters. The city, through a series of corrupt officials, has one department that remains committed to protecting Detroit and the fire department soldiers on fighting fires and ignorance.
Isn’t “Devil’s Night” the night before Halloween, which would be tonight?
They ought to declare Devil’s Night a no limit bag zone for arsonists, and invite all the hunters from neighboring states.
The Google map for Casper street;
From the pictures posted earlier it will save the taxpayers some money. I would let some of them just burn to the ground.
25% of the city needs burned down and the city cannot afford to demolish them.
Wow-— are those numbers correct? That’s a staggering amount of properties!
They always do. Fortunately its often more a matter of preventing a fire from spreading than actually putting them out.
The city cannot even afford to bury their dead, must less demolish ruined homes. Plus its leftwing local and state regulations and taxes make it very hard to get anyone to redevelop its No Go Zone.
Yes, they already had 11 fires in one night about 2 weeks ago, and with all the folks that left the city, I think they are down a few volunteers

There. Fixed it.
It does eliminate some of the places where crack is sold.
Ha...I was just about to ask the same question....Devil’s Night is tonight, not Halloween night!
Is there anything left in Detroit to burn down?
Detroit is also known as “abandoned city”. You can do an image search at google or a youtube video search with that term. Its pretty messed up.
Yep just can’t post article from the Detroit news and some other paper out there because of copywrites, but do a search and you should find them easily
Think of it as urban renewal (although in this case it simply gives the coyotes more room to roam).
It’s a crying shame these firefighters are risking their lives to save abandoned homes worth $7500. They’re not worth the risk. They should just keep the adjoining properties hosed down and let ‘em burn. A hearty purge will do that city good.

Yes, tonight is Devil’s Night (the night before Halloween). Angel’s Night is the night before Devil’s Night, which was conceived as a pro-active attempt to stave off an extra opportunity for arsonists to strike.
...let it burn.
Detroit has gone Mad Max and now they’re starting to flow down the highways into neighboring cities.
Seriously, what really can be done to finally end the ongoing leftist stranglehold on most U.S. cities? When conservatism really can win in most U.S. cities, then “leftist politics” really will be defeated, hopefully for good! There should be special interest groups that are working on finding successful ways of getting conservatism to actually win in cities.
so.. whats your point? Ever been to Africa? Things aint that bad...
None of us 4th graders have ever heard of this.
Once he told us about the pranks and such, we couldn't WAIT to go out do all he warned us about.
Why do these idiots burn their own neighborhoods/town?
If you lived next door to a crack house, you’d ponder burning it down also.
Seeing those videos makes me sick to my stomach in the worst kind of way, I think a Halloween of a nightmare is just begun. My point is to be fired up for that next town hall meeting, you know, that Jobs Jobs Jobs Stimulus bill;
