This guy "Sting" is just another in the long list of uneducated rock stars and celebrities who don't know what they are talking about.
I think it was Keith Richards who once said that rock stars were the last people in the world who you should ask for opinions about current events. They are certainly amoung the last you would want to ask about how to carry out your life.
Keith Richards is not known for wisdom but he hit the nail on the head here.
"Sting" is as dumb as a box of rocks.

The same qualities that make good artists, make bad political analysts...namely that they are dreamers who focus on hopes and platitudes...utopian ideals rather than face reality.

The great Dana Carvey routine, about the day he decided to call himself Sting:
“’Allo Gordo.”
“Uh, I would prefer you call me ‘Sting’ from now on.”
“STING!?!?!?! You’ve gone off your bleedin’ rocker, you ‘ave.”

Almost all famous musicians, actors and sports stars became famous due to their talents. Just because Sting is a talented guitar player and singer does not make him any smarter about politics than it makes him smart about Physics or Medicine.
Laura Ingraham nailed it years ago with her book “Shut up and sing”. 100% spot on.

Obama, the subject
Of Liberal fantasy
They love him, so blindly
See what they want to see
Inside them, theres longing
To see their country change
Hes promised, hell do this
Our values re-arrange
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
Those guys on the TV
You know how bad they get
Each one tries more than ever
To be Obamas pet
They gang up on Fox news
You see how hard they try
Their ratings sink lower
With every stinking lie
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
The talk in the White House
Is how to socialize
Strong words to the Congress
The health care ration lies
Its no use
We see through
Their acts against us all
Just like a true Marxist
Success would mean we fall
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
(please dont tread all over me!)
Dont tread, Dont tread all, Dont tread all over me
(please dont tread all over me!)

I wonder if lefty looney Chrissie Hynde gets a royalty everytime Rush comes on. Probably not. Hynde tried to stop Rush from using their song but didn't own the rights to it. Whoever does own the rights doesn't mind and gets the royalties.

I've always known that Keef was sort-of a joke -- a living, breathing example of the dangers of living to excess. But not long ago I saw a biographical show about the Rolling Stones and it pointed out there was a
feud between him & Mick that stemmed from Mick's knighthood in 2003. It was Keith that said it was ludicrous, and implied that Mick was a sellout. He apparently didn't mean it when he talked anti-establishment all those years? Anyhow, in an instant my whole attitude toward Keith changed.

Movie stars and famous musicians try to legitimize themselves by venturing into politics or picking a cause to support.
Keef strikes me as not giving a d@mn about knighthood, politics, causes, or any other greenie weenie trend.

I seem to remember amongst other things in the history of this goofball:
His wife preaches that we all reduce our carbon emmisions while she jets around Europe and has special food items flown in.
Sting states that he is a practitioner of tantric sex and can perform for several hours and experiences orgasms that are more than one hour in duration.
Yeah. I'll kneel at his feet to glean nuggets of wisdom. Yeah, sure.
